Game's getting more fun

Kind of tired of all the negativity on these boards but I do want you guys to know that in the last patch I do feel that the game has gotten to a good point. Most champions are viable.

i've played and played against all the champions I own recently outside of kayle. I haven't faced another kayle in another match in forever, but yeah. I feel like almost all the champs are quite viable buys. Everyone's worth the blue essence. Obviously when it comes to ease of use, and general difficulty some champs are better feeling when you pick them up but this is the most fun I've had playing the game in a bit.

matches last 28-33 minutes on average and that's where I want it.

All lanes have a good amount of agency.

I wouldn't take any complaint from others as doomsday complaints anymore. Obviously a small buff to zoe would be appreciated and other tiny changes, but I don't feel like any champ is outright ridiculous to fight.

Keep it up riot. Stay positive and keep on with the mindset of making the fun exciting and fun.

The main complaints that everyone says of only a few champs are strong aren't branching out themselves. Zilean's strong, taliyah's strong, camille's strong. Just... branch out and practice and the champion's strengths will show themselves.

I feel patch 8.4 is decent too. There are things that could feel better but it feels like a much fairer game now.

I think it's definitely key to really master a few champions. There's just no substitute for a champion you play at a top level to solve a lot of "balance" issues.

I'd tent to completely disagree.

It's never been a doomsday situation though. Anyone who thinks it will ever be is stupid. Riot is going to try everything they can to hold onto players as their game crumbles under it's own weight. Much like the other big titles of the past, the game just fades into a niche market.

You can't keep abstracting the power of champions, stacking it behind numerous mechanics and kit interactions, and then expect it to hold together on it's own merits. You don't really have any control over how you play the game anymore, and riot has removed numerous ways to effectively approach the game throughout the years and continues to do so, whenever they can.

You say that every position has agency, but riot has been stripping agency from the players for years, and putting it into the champions.

I get that they want to chase after the "wider audience", but if they want to do that then they shouldn't be leaving their core foundational audience behind in the process, which is exactly what happens when you rework and change old content with a different target audience than when it was originally made.

The game isn't getting more fun, it's just currently catering to the particular subset of the players that you find yourself in, and continuing to neglect numerous other subsets. Imagine if CoD4, kept seeing reworks and changes, until it was effectively CoD: IW. How many people do you think bought CoD4, that also bought CoD:IW?
