I just noticed that upgrading a mastery 6 champ to mastery 7 apparently costs 3900 blue essence now?? It used to cost 600 and now...this? Is this a bug? If this is intentional, I don't actually see how Riot wouldn't expect backlash on this new system. No blue essence earned for just playing games, and no real way to get it except for disenchanting champ shards (which we get rarely get from capsules). So what...?
They've acknowledged it in some of their recent discussions. Initial thinking was since BE was scaled up by 6.5, scaling up all BE prices by 6.5 would be functionally the same price, but they realise that due to the increased fungiblity of BE that that isn't necessarily appropriate.
That said though, they're focusing addressing the bigger BE economy issues first, so I'd probably just hold off on upgrading any mastery levels for a bit.
(Also...leveling capsules don't 'rarely' give champ shards, they're outright guaranteed.)
They're probably nuking the economy and trying to reset it. They'll probably come out later with reduced prices for these things. Granted, I'm not defending that. It's just my guess.
Well obviously if you dont have the blue essence, you arent ACTUALLY good at the champion.
Yes. It was public knowledge that this was going to happen for several patches now. It was part of the preseason update.
But I think it's better now ?in ip system we need 2 or 3 champion shards , if you were lucky enough you would get 2 shards from champion that costs 6300 ip which gives you 375 BE , so 2 of them gives enough BE to upgrade your champion to lvl 7 which costs 3400 ip at least , but i was unlucky enough to make Kayn mastery lvl 7 , I got Amumu shard twice , and a ryze shard so i ended up with 598 be with those 3 shards .... which means I payed 5100 ip to "try" to make Kayn lvl 7 , so at the end I bought another shard to get more than 600 be ... and GUESS WHAT , I PAYED FOR 4 CHAMPION SHARDS FOR HIM ! 4 !. 1700 * 4 = 6800 ip , well I was lucky enough that the last shard I got was a Kayn shard xDDDDD so didn't have to use be , anyway what I'm trying to say , the new system about making your champion mastery lvl 7 higher is better now , especially that now we get shards everytime we level up , so be patient and wait for that shard of the champion you want to level up with , and here you made your champion lvl or 7 for free ," not really free tho but better than before "
So that means they are making us have to use money to get xp boosts when I did not have to do that for IP at all?
I feel like the entire new Blue Essence currency rework is crap. Yeah, I was excited at first when I saw all the 0's behind the amount of BE they were giving me. Then I went to the store, and was only able to buy 5 or 6 champions. I'm pretty sure that with the ip boosts I spent Real $$$ on so I could make rune pages, I could've instead bought all the champs. And now it feels like earning currency is a pain in the butt. "Hey guys, you'll get something each time you level." So far it's taken me at least 30 matches (probably more) to get from 30-35. And I've maybe made 3k BE (I'll be actually keeping track of it from 35-40). And that was because of hitting lvl 35 which is a MILESTONE level. And to top it all off, you get LESS BE from disenchanting a lot of champion shards. Only a few of the ones I've gotten were worth more than 100 BE, while in the past I can't remember many that were worth less than 100. Please RITO. DON'T GIVE IN TO THE WAYS OF EA IN ORDER TO MAKE A QUICK $$$.

Literally exactly perfect conversion. There are plenty of valid complaints regarding the new BE system. This is not one of them.
This might not be part of the topic, but when I got my 32 champion shards, 1 was Alistar. Now, I already had him, but I can still see the price if I wanted to make him permanent, which was 810. Did they increase his value from 450 or is this just a bug? ^^
It's so you have to get RP to get champions.
I got vayne to lv 7 last night and she used more BE to upgrade than i earned by leveling from 30-35 since the patch came out
As many champ shards as you will be getting it shouldnt matter. level enough and youll get it for free :p
