Funnel in ranked 3v3

Why is it ok that funnel still exists in 3v3 mode? There is literally no reason for support items, of which relic shield is the most offensive, to exist on the Twisted Treeline. The only thing those items serve to do is encourage a toxic play style, which Riot has attempted repeatedly to remove from SR, so why not remove it from TT as well?
