How to truly climb in ranked?

So my goal for the season was to reach the Gold Division.

This was my first season and I'm currently Silver 3 and the highest I got so far was Silver 1 promotions.

If I understand correctly the matchmaking system tries to get every player to 50% win rate.

So If that were true then the only way to climb fast without being destroyed by the matchmaking system would be just to play as many games as possible and maintain a very slight positive win rate.

Can Any high level ELO players confirm or deny if that is true?

matchmaking doesn't try anything, the algorithm is so fucked up, and the players are so poorly placed, combined iwth you being in silver so you get people in provisionals(smurfs, regular players, brand new players) there's no way it could be accurate or properly push you to 50%, you do that on your own by playing TONS of games and when you get stuck where you belong you'll hover there until you get better

play something you are really good at, that is a meta champion, and carry your teams, for me this champion is twitch, i can hard carry teams up until mid plat with twitch, then i get to finally play kog maw because my supports aren't dumb as a rock

carrying as support is pretty rough you basically want to just get really good at a few supports like..literally 2 that are versatile enough to win against anything, and make sure janna is something you're great at when it's not banned or picked. Then you need to find someone smurfing adc who will either carry you to gold, or someone with 50%+ winrate as adc and you'll get there eventually

this is if you don't want to play adc, mid, or top and carry yourself there, which if you're not great at that can be hard too...

just focus on

not dying(like ever, if you die more than 3 times there's no reason you SHOULD win, but you can win anything in silver)
after you and adc take the tower, don't sit there just farming forever, but don't let your adc roam so much that they never farm again and end up with 100 cs at 15 minutes and 111cs at 25 minutes, make sure to roam and help mid take tower, and keep shoving mid, top is really not that important unless it's easy to take and you have rift herald as well you can shove that, but for low elo focus mid
actually build support items, all those shitty items you probably hate that don't directly help YOU, actually make a huge difference for your adc(if they can position okay) get a locket of the iron solari, get an ardent censer on champions that use it, get a redemption, GET A FUCKING SIGHTSTONE,
ward properly and every time you can without putting your adc in a bad spot, you need Tri bush warded if you're blue side, and by dragon early, warding over the wall next to the brush in the river so you can see a zac, or kayn coming over to gank you, or a nocturne, or fiddle is important. mid game ward intersections of the jungle, and river small bush, mid to late always have a ward on baron
disrupt if possible without losing too much exp, if you're a support that can cause turmoil for enemy laners, if opponent is pushed up super far on mid and you can get behind them and slow them or knock them up without dying and your mid and/or jungle can finish them, these things matter

that's a lie, its riot's way of saying that the match making is balanced and fair, not that if you are on a winning streak, the match-making is going to match you with bronze 6 players to make sure you lose.

you climb faster by being better. In bronze and silver people have very little game knowledge or very high ping that makes their game knowledge worthless. I'm talking about trading, wave manipulation, match-ups and team fights

Very true, I'm just now getting into the finer mechanics of wave manipulation and peeling in a team fight. Something I never considered would play such a big role in the game.

I main jungle, the main problem for me right now is handling my teamates not being able to react to enemy ganks well or following up on my ganks. I'll probably switch to a mid or top lane soon.

I'm a mid-top player, so, i can't give much on jungle. I see it as the second hardest role after sup.

what I can tell you is what not to do: don't just do your camp like wolves/chickens while i'm fighting the enemy and then after i die you come to just take farm and then walk away. It will REALLY tilt your mid/top laner seeing you as a leach and useless jungler.

Especially if you got an early game jungler and not a late game one.

The match making system doesnt try to maintain a 50% winrate lol. The match making system goes off mmr. So sometimes you will have a bronze player on your team but to make up for it you get a gold player with gold mmr. Sometime you will get 4 bronze players on your team but their mmr is silver 3-1.

If you want to rank up in low elo, just learn how to farm and push lane. Im on my smurf right now, http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=DIILmach00, only been playing for 2 days and am gold 5 with plat 4 mmr.

I have a perfect way. Just last week I went on a 12 game win streak or some shit and I noticed a pattern. In every game I was being as positive as possible. So if we started losing I'd say things like "don't worry we got the late" "just play safe and i'll roam to get you ahead" and shit like that. And in every champ select I said we have a great comp just to get the morals up before the game. The best part is half those games we were losing pretty hard, but we came back from some miracle!
