Purpose of this topic? Get some discussion going among the player base regarding Eve. I want to start things off by getting a feel for what the community wants Eve to do before going any further.

Today's question?

What sort of champion do you want Eve to be? If you aren't an Eve player or are otherwise disinterested feel free to vote the walrus option.

Why don't you have a "Hybrid Assassin" option?

By the way, I like the fact that you can go either AP, AD, or both with her. That's one of the things that makes her very interesting. I would be sad if they made her ONLY AD, or ONLY AP.

Well, it would depend on what you mean by 'Hybrid Assassin'.

Do you consider Kat a Hybrid Assassin? What about Akali? I tend to consider champions that can build AD but focus on AP and magic pen to be AP Assassins.

A true hybrid assassin really wouldn't work unless their damage is absolutely absurd since they can't itemize for penetration effectively.

Take a look at my match history. What would you classify my Eve as?

And for what it's worth, if you vote feel free to give your reasoning behind the vote you made.

For example, I'm fond of Eve hybrid assassiny-bruiser sort of build since that's how I was playing her since beta. There was nothing more hilarious than Sunfire-stack/Force of Nature Eve. I typically refer to this particular class combination as a Skirmisher, a champion that doesn't deal as much damage as a true Assassin while still being slippery and durable. You move in and out of combat eating cooldowns and weakening foes before diving back in to finish people off.

The important thing about old Eve's durability was that without a kill/assist she was squishy as hell. But with one she could snowball via her Ult heal and be a pretty major threat whilst cleaning up the enemy team. The Eve that we have right now is more of a traditional Bruiser at the moment. She initiates and gets her shield and that's it, no careful planning or skill required on her part.

AP burst, let Shaco have the AD IMO. Them both being AD makes things more awkward because an AP assassin jungler is kind of missing from the lineup right now.

Yeah, I can see that.

And just to mention, if Riot did go with a burst damage pattern on Eve they would have to be really really careful about how they do it. Getting blown up instantly out of stealth is pretty obnoxious to play against.

Limited burst with soft CC so she can gank but requires assistance.

They'd also need to somehow balance her health. You can't be a stealthy AP champion and have tankiness, but she also has to somehow survive in her jungle.

That was the nice thing about her old Ult passive. Eve got healed on kills and assists. She was squishy on her own, but if she played her cards right and got her heals she was deceptively durable.

The current Ult is just HERP DERP GET A SHIELD. There's no real play to it aside from making sure you tag more than one person.

An AD Assassin who can built AP. Poppy can be run that way, too.

And just to mention, Eve's E doesn't spellvamp anymore. It will however benefit fully from Hydra's cleave effect.

DPS, AD or AP

Cause she cannot really have worth wihile stealth if she is bursty enough to be a burst assassin.

Both can be viable on the same kit if AD is AA/OnHit focused while AP is ability focused.

I play both AD and AP builds, and they are pretty comparable if you have the right team comps. AD is better for team fights and contesting/controlling neutral objects, AP is better for making picks and split pushing.

I've seen this sort of thing suggested before. Basically, swap E back to magic damage and keep then OnHit. Then make Q apply OnHit effects to the first target hit. That would give Eve the ability to itemize both AD/OnHit or AP/OnHit.

Making Q apply on hit is not really needed, because she has really good AS per level and a strong AS steroid.

The best place to look for a change to make DPS Eve better would be to change how the shield from her Ult works to make it easier/safer to stick around in a fight longer.

Her R is the odd ability on her kit. The others require you to build damage to be useful, while it has large base values and scales best with defensive stats.

AP assassin, DPS. Because if she were able to build some AD items, she would have ALOT more issues than if she were to build AP items. She is a very problematic champion after all, keeping that in mind with making the decision. I'm not sure why people chose Hybrid bruiser, are people expecting a complete rework?

Eve is arguably a hybrid bruiser right now. That's (sort of) what she was before her remake as well, so it's understandable that some people are fond of it. Trinity/tanky or Gunblade/tanky were two of the most common go-to builds on Eve after Riot made her Ult's IAS boost reliable.

I could see AP Assassin dps working really easily. Make her Ult into a single-target skill that hits the foe with a debuff that slows them and gives Eve a sizable amount of OnHit magic damage against them instead of just hitting them with a nuke. Then make it refresh on Kill/Assist. That would put an end to the 'nuke them from stealth' gameplay that's so awful to be met with.

Battle Walrus! ALWAYS Battle Walrus :)

Seriously though, I've enjoyed building her in many ways. Had enjoyed making her into a Tanky AP Burst Assassin (with things like item 3116 item 3128 item 3083), then the AD Tanky Burst side came out with (item 3153 item 3068 item 3143) and all the other various things we use to use like Lizard or Wraith.

So I dunno, where I'd like to see her go overall. Both sides of her had fun things in them.

Poptart Evelynn1 votes

You're going to get conflicting stats. Most people here barely play Evelynn while the few of us who actually main Eve for jungle will have different opinions also. We all picked her up at different times. Bursting and dps are almost the same thing. So what your going to get is probably a close to even chart of stats for everything but the tanky side. You wil get dps and burst being even on ap/ad.

On the other side what we really want is to classify her as a role. The majority of us extremely enjoy being a fast moving mobile assassin. We don't like her being tanky. It's just boring because all you do is run around smashing Q for an hour being a distraction. Zac and other tanks alike do that same fantasy but better.

I don't mind her being AP or AD or Hybrid but we really need to pick one and a "style/fantasy" that suits her so she isn't left with mix stats that can never be utilized properly. I like getting behind people and assassinating as Evelynn. The most fun I have ever had on Evelynn was when her pure AP/dfg/Pen build was broken. It was so fun to pop out and nuke people although it was pretty broken.
