Is Rek Sai's ultimate kind of bad?

At first glance it seems great! Teleport anywhere on the map...

...that your team already has control over, or to a location that is so unimportant that nobody bothered to pass through.

Its probably at its most valuable in lane phase, when the controlled zones are very small, but as the game goes on, one team is going to have more map control, and thus are going to be trampling your little holes all over the place. I guess the idea is to be sneaky and plan ahead of your oponents and hide your holes in fancy places... or you could just pick LeeSin and have everything in the game except an unreliable global teleport that announces itself to everyone on the map.

So yeah, global mobility ults great, reliability even greater. There are plenty of junglers with powerful ults that arent dependant on someone not standing on your exit for 2 seconds. Would you rather have Pantheon or RekSai ult into your lane?

it's harder for Rek'Sai to ult into your lane, but when she gets there, she's 3 times scarier than a pantheon.

The active part of her ult is fantastic. If you're maintaining a large network of tunnels you can put out an enormous amount of pressure. Even if you only have a few it can allow you to reposition in a moment in a way few other champions can match.

The passive does feel a little underwhelming though. It very well might be strong enough to be useful on it's own, but from my experience so far it has been kept weak due to the strength of it's active effect.

Just use the same mindset you use when placing vision wards for when you tunnel. Proper placement can keep them "hidden" for roughly half the game.

Don't place vision wards much? Then that's your primary issue.
