The Influence Point System needs Changing

Dear LoL devs...

I've already been on the forum and said this, and i got a response. However the response felt generic and unsatisfying, so I'm here again. I'm here to talk about the Influence point system, but i might have a solution, though its inspired from another game i play. Before i get into the heart of this i want to say i really enjoy League. Its fun and creative and focuses on individual skill, though i often believe its that final fact that contributes to most of the toxicity. But i digress.

Now to the heart of the matter. I'll be blunt here: I HATE the influence point system, and I find it broken. Yeah, you get twice the Influence and experience points from your first game of the day, but that's ONCE a day. and twice as much? I'm sorry but its a pathetic amount if ask me, even with the double. Sure, its a couple hundred, and that's defiantly more than just 50 or something, but come on! Its still not worth it! Plus all that encourages is for someone like me to hop on once a day for a month to get a hero, only for me to play and eventually get stomped on and to quit again until the next champ comes out or i get the desire to play again.

Now i hated my last post because it was all problem no solution, and i hate to talk about something if i don't have a way to fix it. That's just complaining and that gets no one anywhere. but now's the part where if anyone see this other than a Dev, they're going to scream "If you like that game so much then why are you even here! Shut up and go play your #&^@% game!!" because I'm going to be talk about Heroes of the Storm. Now i know the two games aren't the same. HotS focuses on team play and coordination, where as this focuses on individual skill and a bit of luck, as well as other things. But it does have a system you could take a small lesson from: the Quest system.

See, HotS has a quest system. Everyday you get a new quest, whether you've logged in or not, and you can up to three quest in your log at one time. Each quest gives you Gold, the main currency that you purchase heroes with. The type of quests vary; from types of heroes, play 3 games as an assassin, to what Blizz universe they origin from, play 2 games as a World of Warcraft hero, to playing/winning a certain number of games. But they can do this, essentially, because of this system. Because of the quest system they know that people are able to have at the very least a certain number of those heroes, with that type or universe. Because they don't rely on the ten gold you get per game to purchase a hero! Plus it keeps the players engaged! They want to come back the next day to see what quest they get, and if they missed a few days, they're excited to hop back on to see what quests they got and how much gold they can make that day. If i don't hop on League for a couple days, it doesn't really matter to me, because there's not a reason TO come back. And Most of the time, if i see a new hero is coming out, I just sigh and say "Great, another awesome hero that ill never get to touch, unless it happens to go through the rotation. But knowing my luck, that'll be the week i don't play." And since I'm on the subject, there's something else you could add: a hero trial system. Because practice mode is great and all, but what if that hero you want to try isn't in the rotation? or you only managed to play them once? There should be a way to try a hero out without waiting however long it takes for that hero to rotate in. but i digress.

The point I'm trying to make here is you have a ton of heroes here, with a system that makes it so anyone who wants any has to either play their brains out everyday, or get on once a day every day for a month. Neither of which are any fun in the slightest. A quest system, though you couldnt call it that, would keep players engaged and want to come back everyday, and make heroes more accessible for all. Also, please add a trial system or something, okay? It makes a purchase easier to make if you can try the hero before you buy it in an environment where A) bans are impossible and B) not limited to the period of a week.

Yours Truly

Stormhawk

P.S. Sorry for talking about another game here, but it was the only place i had any sort of solution to pull from. Please, make a quest system happen. P.P.S. Sorry for the length. [slayer-jinx-catface]

The thing about HotS is that casual play is a crapshoot. There are going to be a lot of games where you're randomly matched onto a team with no healer/tank against a team that has a great balance of heroes. If there was no quest system, NOBODY would play casually. The quest system gives people that reason.
