Why should we be allowed to honor an afk player?

I've noticed that the game gives you an option to honor an afk player. Why is this allowed? If this is allowed yall should bring back the "honorable opponent" option at the end of the games.[slayer-jinx-unamused]

in rare cases someone who could have gotten the game winning penta could have dc's before the last nexus turret fell and you won the game
