You cant honestly tell me you believe
that some champions (cough
cough) maintaining 50% or higher winrates on <25% pickrates is healthy for the game or that any of the above champions don't need (further) nerfs. Took a look at op.gg today and was disgusted.
I'm actually going to ignore Ahri for a bit here because she does need a nerf and it has been a long time coming but she does not get picked in nearly 40% of all games and win 53% of them like a certain Lighslinger, or his best friend the Chain Warden being picked in 32% of all games and maintaining an even winrate, or everyone's favorite Blind Monk quite literally being picked in a little less than half of all games and pushing a 51% winrate. 'Fun' champions are fun to play and I hold no ill will to those who enjoy them but its time for Riot to acknowledge that Season 7 is on its way to being a failure in terms of champion diversity. A dozen or so of the same champions reigning at the top of the pick, play, and ban rate ladders for months or even years is not healthy for the game. I am biased, I play relatively unpopular champions, and it makes me sick to see Shen and Malzahar and whoever else the LCS hateboner goes to get their teeth knocked out every patch when the real offenders are hiding in plain sight, or champs that are legitimately struggling get cast to the side with a promised VGU in the year 2028 or because their design is 'unhealthy'.
There are champions who barely manage to scratch 45-47% winrates on tiny fractions of the above champions, and Riot will continue to either nerf them or leave them in the dust while allowing a handful of popular generalist picks determine League's meta for months or even years.
I actually can't wait until everyone gets their respective VGU and modernization pass so that all characters are as fun™ and healthy™ (read: devoid of a true weakness) and League buckles under everyone having a 40% pickrate
