How did you guys find your main?
Just wondering how everyone found their main and what stories they have. Plus I don't have one and want some tips on ways to found one lol.

Me and pantheon both share 1 thing in common We both like to bake in our spare time ;D It is a privilege to dine at our feet
My main for a long time was
I found him by watching an LCS game and thoght that I could do that... Now there is no Shen, what ever this is
is no longer Shen....
is my new love... Watched Valkrin stream with her and thought it was a champ I could enjoy!
I kinda like some of the support champions such as Leona, thresh, bard, and tahm. But I don't really like the support role overall because I like hard carrying or just making people rage from a one shot or something.
I hate assassins

I started on Olaf, back before the Olafing, because holy shit I loved his thematics and voiceover and playstyle.
Then he got Olafed, and I wandered, forever adrift.
Then came the S3 Nasus buffs, and I found Sirchez, and I have never looked back.
you have to start with trying out champs.
look carefully at the kind of champ youre good at. glass cannon, bruiser, tank, mage, mage assassin, list goes on.
look carefully at the play style that is successful for you.
then look carefully for kits that you an abuse with your play style and champ type.
for me its jax, trundle, pantheon, shen, mundo, zac. although right now i stay away from the tanks bcause percent health damage

Ever since I started league of legends I hated Teemo. I thought he was a no skill freelo scrub. I thought Teemo players were the scum of the earth and I wanted nothing to do with them. but then one day a friend of mine and I were 1v1ing and she kept choosing Teemo to piss me off. Eventually I had enough. I bought Teemo and beat her to a pulp with him.... Ive been wrecking with Teemo ever since
Shame
All my lvl 5's are what I consider my mains but ill put them from favorite to least favorite
In World of Warcraft, one of my favorite characters is this guy named Khadgar--a badass in bird-themed clothing who can transform into a raven.
I wanted someone like Khadgar to play in League of Legends, so I ended up gravitating towards Quinn, who has a somewhat similar aesthetic and could essentially "transform" into Valor at the time.
Within my first few games as Quinn, I knew her playstyle was right for me. She had all the necessary ingredients: burst, speed, and awesome visuals/VO lines, not to mention that damn cool ult.
If you're looking for a Champion to main, just try out a Champion who calls to you in some way, and whose gameplay aligns with what you want out of League.
When did you take the name Valor Bot? I remember almost changing my name to it, instead of Best Valor NA XD
Hey, bird buds! http://i.imgur.com/7oiWsLC.png"
I think it was sometime around October of last year; unfortunately the ult was changed soon afterward so it doesn't make as much sense anymore.
Idk season 3 I just never saw any Skarner players and i thought he looked sick, so i mained him for a season.
Then when season 4 came a long i saw Quinn in the shop and i was like 'who da faq is this champ' and i loved the lore and she was just fun to play.
So, I wanted to learn to jungle but I'm mechanically trash. So i looked for the most brain dead champ in the game and stumbled across
. No skill shots or complex combos just a very simple linear playstyle. Now I rush 40%
R into 5 champions and scream WEEDWICK BOIZ GET **** YOU CANT KILL ME.
I like birds
Pretty much
I picked my main based on how fun they were to me, their appearance, and how good their kit suited support......Hence the Moustache XD
I loved Braum's playstyle, his skins (except el tigre), and his kit in general. It also helped that I was quite good with him....though lately i've been leaning more towards Tahm Kench...
A lot of ppl say he is one of the weakest supports atm but I have fun and have had some good success so I keep playing him.
I enjoy fat catfishes and friendly guys with mustaches
Play different champions.
Look up champion spotlights and see what champion interest you
Play champion you didnt like too play. For example i hated playing sion fizz and lee sin but now i like them.
Shen got a rework and then he was rly fun
Back when league was about carrying matches and I mean really carrying, I played fizz once and went 10-7 mind you I was bronze 3 0LP.
Back then I thought that was hot shit. So bam started playing him from then on out. I earned 600-1000LP that day.
But assassin's are no longer welcomed in this game and solo carrying hasn't been meta in a long time. So I only play fizz for old time sakes here and there
I main
because 1 day i was randomly clicking around and she was the champ i got and i just kept playing her
Long story short...I got stuck as support so blitzcrank is my main...
Been bouncing between Kench top and Gangplank for about 6 months but I've finally decided on the pirate. As much as I love the catfish, Riot doesn't seem to think he belongs top lane anymore. Also Gangplank is just insanely fun with the barrel game.
Basically, I picked
because I've always really liked three things:
-support/annoyer types -music based characters -magic users
and she was an exact fit. And who doesn't love DJ Sona?
Came back to LoL around the Juggernaut patch, played with a Botlane Morde as Blitzcrank and then as a Toplane Morde who got multiple pentas. Continued playing Udyr for awhile, then when he got nerfed and I was looking for a new main I looked back at those Mordekaisers and how fun it looked. Picked him up and loved playing him Jungle.
For me, when I and a group of friends found the game no one wanted to jungle, I guess they weren't interested. after trying the role I figured I wanted to play a cool champion, I decided to go with
because when I first started I found his design really dope. From there I began to really enjoy his play style and I've been playing him ever since.
I mained Pantheon before Sion. I changed through frustration of being useless the longer the game went on and not having many ways to use my abilities. Don't get me wrong, Pantheon is good, but my frustrations prevented me from putting in effort for new builds when the new masteries were released (I didn't like TLD).
As for Sion, well it goes back to when I played bots from 1-30. I always hated it when they ran away (and I ended up playing a lot of Thresh because of it). It's actually something that draws me to Sion, the ability to keep people near you.
So he did what I wanted (I also had semi global relevance, which was awesome) did it in a way I enjoyed, and I found him as a very useful pick.
I hated building tank on Pantheon when my team needed a tank. Now the, "we need a tank" statement rarely comes up when I play.
When looking for a main, first find what you want to accomplish in game, and then experiment with champions that do that. If you don't know or nothing is clicking, try other things. I used to make it a point to play every free champion of the week that I didn't own or have never played at least once that week.
Most importantly, find someone you have fun with. Find what's fun and find what supports that fun.
heard everyone saying fizz was broken, tried him, found out why everyone says he is broken.
Good ol days of blind pick. Due to my slow PC and internet back then, I can never call roles, so I'm always support. Became a support main from that.
Then trial and error on supports, eventually just stuck to Lulu because everyone else became boring to play afterwards. Supporting is a role perfect for the lazy like me. No need to fight for roles, no need to farm, and no need to take kills just to be relevant.
3 years later, I'm still a filthy Lulu support main that has never left gold =(
found zyra just looking for a support.. when zyra came out.. she was really strong. i didnt play her. then they nerfed her by reducing her movement speed and cutting her damage in half. afew other nerfs hit her and people stopped really picking or playing her.
i needed to get away from tanks because i always felt the team was leaving me to die. so i played zyra and realized that i can control the pace of a game.
she fit how i wanted to play.
when i play i still yell at her plants for not listening to what i want them to do. they are dumb and need some verbal coaching.
been zyra main since 2013
Swain just looked so cool. I loved his ult, that was really it. So when he was on the wheel I tried him, I was new at the time, and he was simple enough for me at the time. Look at the theme, lore, personality, and kit.
Then Riot changed his gameplay and wrecked him because they overbuffed him in the MYMU.
I picked fun personalities so that their quotes and quirky behavior would make things fun even if the game didn't go so well. So now I play mostly Lulu, Zac, Janna, and Nami. I also love Wukong, I just don't play top lane very often.
In the shop with the rest of the other 130 champs kappa
My friend who introduced me to League was telling me about this really broken champ that came out.
This guy who was pick/ban and was demolishing everything, and who was overpowered to all hell.
I went home and played as him because he was free that week.
When I started playing league again after a short hiatus, he was one of the first champions I bought.
Now I'm a filthy
main.
I found my main as
and
because he's really fun to play(try him) for temporary, he is my main. I plan to main
because Ryze is getting a rework and possibly not a tanky mage anymore. I fount
as my main because he's impossible to 1v1 when played right(Unlimited cc and a shield+ tanky). And I found
because I snipe people with my Ultimate. I really like
also. My friend climb do diamond III just playing her. I recommend you to try her because she is passive and teaches you how to land timing of skillshots and shield use.
is also fun because it teaches you map awareness :)
Bard was love at first sight.
Playing release bard was a little... Awkward, i'll admit, but he was still fun. My friends, however, were all aboard the 'bard is trash' train, even after he got his buffs. I wanted to prove them wrong, so i decided to keep playing bard until they had to admit he was good.
They still havent admited he's good (and suffer from the common delusion bard's ult is bad) but at this point I don't care.
i came from the starcraft 2 custom game "hero attack" (which i left because the creator abandoned it and it became bugged an unplayable from the next few patches)
my sister was playing league at the time and she eventually convinced me to try it, i joined during nidalee free week (this was season 3)
because well i like cats.. and i wanted to play as a cat. that the fact that nid is hella sexy helped too.
nidalee has been my main ever since,
You know your main when you can play 200 games straight with him/her and not get bored.
is that champ for me.
I found Caitlyn when Ashe wasn't on free champ rotation any more and played her for a few months. But I progressively got more and more angry at all the supports who didn't really know how to support so i decided to learn how to main support in order to save adc's from the bad ones. I believe i mained Janna, then Bard, and now i main Karma support <3. I guess the moral of the story is, "If you want a job done right, then you're gonna have to do it yourself."
I don't really have a main, but my most played by far is Volibear. and I just like the tanky aspect+damage hybrid that he can have. plus I like his passive, lets me do risky things
I used to hate Riven with a burning passion.
Then I started trying to play her to prove how "easy and op she was"
Turns out I was starting my journey into hours of gut-wrenching learning and game-play, as I fell so in love with the play-style that I had to become a Riven main.
I'm a fucking pyromaniac.
but in reality, my first main was
, because I liked the style of skillful play and weapon mastery, working up to power then being able to 1v5 like a god of war decended from heaven. Sadly, dodge stat was removed and I never really liked new jax much, though I still play him now and then.
now I play brand alot because I like to be able to control/dps an entire team and move the flow of a fight in my favor with good play. been playing alot of
as well for mostly the same reason with her ult.... and hilarious in lane double-up hits for 600 damage against 900 hp adcs.
I basically went through every support mage and played all of them and Sona naturally got her trial run. Found her fun and manageable (I first picked her up when I was very new at the game) and I've continued playing her since as I find more and more things to like about her. Now I play her because I like her "hit allies with as much stuff as possible" gameplay, enjoy her passive a huge amount and love her voiceover. Very relaxing person to hear in game.
I saw Syndra in a game and was confused as to why this champion was always putting scary looking balls on the ground. She seemed really interesting and strong, and my boyfriend told me she was one of the hardest champions in the game to play, but was amazing if you were good with her. I tried her and even though I sucked hooooorribly, I did find her very fun. Eventually I got to grips with her and fell in love - now she's by far my favourite mid laner.
I think I saw her in an LCS game and thought she looked really unique, plus I heard all about how much the pros loved her and at the time that made her sound like she must have been a really impressive character. Found her gameplay extremely odd and hard when I first tried her, so I abandoned her for a while, but like Syndra, when I got to grips with her I really started to like her a lot. Now she's my primary jungler and I like to think I'm quite good on her. She's also my pocket pick in featured gamemodes - nobody expects the Ascension Elise.
Honestly, I started playing Udyr in Season 4 when the MadStone was prevalent. I was just another one of the masses playing it - Only, I found I clicked with the champion way better than most. I quickly learned his strengths, his weaknesses, across all builds and skill paths. I fell in love with the animations for Spirit Guard, and I've been maining him since then. Only 100k Mastery points on him right now, though, because while I love the Dyr, I do still play other champions!
