A Reminder About Sion and Lux

So I've noticed a bunch of threads surrounding Sion pop up recently complaining that he's too weak or he deserves buffs or whatever it is. Quite frankly, data does not support this. He hovers around a 50% win rate in all ranks of Solo Q, which power wise I would think we'd all agree he's a balanced champion. A raw buff will simply push him higher, and if we're not careful, might accidentally push him over the top for a short time. The last time that happened? We shot Lux up to one of the highest win rate champions for a patch.

This is what he needs: A minor popularity boost. Something that would make Sion more approachable to using or more satisfying for being on the Rift without straight up giving him more power. Sion right now is rocking a 2% popularity from the site I'm pulling from, and yeah, I'll agree that's quite lame. Why not focus on that instead of his raw power? Why not focus exclusively on making Sion easier for more people to reach instead of going out of your way to indirectly do the exact same thing through buffs?

Sion is fine, one of my favorite champions right now.

Honestly one thing that would make him feel a lot stronger (the shield nerfs made him FEEL really weak) is if the the delay on his passive would go down with lvls, like early on you can cheese a couple of kills but it's effectiveness falls of drastically as people start moving faster with boot ranks, and its hard to not just get kite in all directions as soon as your passive turns on.

It's 1.5 right now, maybe if it went down to like .5 at lvl 11 or 16

Also death surge (the active component to his passive) sucks

They just need to revert the shield detonation nerf to where he can activate it early again. It's weaker than it was before AND it takes forever to detonate, so he lost a lot of his previous offensive power because its so easy to pop the shield.

IMO, and this seems like common sense design, the shield should do more damage the more that is remaining, and just not have a detonation delay. That way it can be used offensively or defensively, without it dipping too far into both, as it was before when he was a lane bully.

Also I think his late game scaling is kind of bleh. For having infinite scaling HP it never really feels like he's particularly more tanky than anyone else. Combat wise he just can't kill people late game, so he goes from a somewhat damaging role to being strictly CC and peel.

Sions win rate is below 50%; what're you smoking.

"Hovering around" maybe read more carefully?

Part of why I'm unsure complete reversion of the shield nerfs is the way to go, since that would easily push him up 2% or more in win rate. I'd qualify your statements regarding how his 50-ish % win-rate means he's balanced by noting that since he's quite unpopular, for the most part only people who are highly experienced with the champ are using him, and they're probably only using him in very particular situations since he's very easily counterpicked, not only by dodgey champs like Riven and Fiora top, but by the mid and adc too. If you pick Sion into Ahri and Vayne, you will never ult a carry and you will bring very little to a teamfight.

He doesn't need more power, he just needs it shifted to not be clunky and unenjoyable

Basically his entire kit is in his Q and R, wherein he does 1500 AoE physical damage while knocking you up if he gets his stuff off. The problem is that he doesn't really get anything off if a comp isn't built for it (Bard is perfect)

W delay needs to come back down to 2 seconds, and W's shield value needs to go back to 10% at rank 1, while the shield damage needs to scale up like the health did for 6/7/8/9/10%. Let him actually jungle again, and while you're at it make his HP gain on takedown vs monsters so he isn't punished heavily for giving buffs away

If need be his Q AD scaling can be reverted to 1.8 to compensate

So I feel like that statement was aimed at me.

This is exactly what I said.
