Why are the matches in promos recorded when lost but not won?

If I lose the two games in promos I'm back at 60ish LP and if I win 1 lose 2 I'm at high 70s. However If I won 2-0 then I'm put in 0 LP next division instead of the potential 40 i could have been on.

I know the system is bad but at least remove the whole tracking at put us at 80LP when you lose (so it takes 1 game to go back to promos) or give us the LP we would have gained if we won normally.

Because those wins are banked as demotion protection.

I've been demoted multiple times after a single loss at 0 LP even when I had a 55% win rate. Demotion protection only exists for the first few games after a promo. So if you go something like 75 LP -> win win win win lose win lose lose lose you're demoted back to 75 LP even though you have 1 net win.

It is to prevent this.

consider this match order.

Win Promo's loss,loss Promo's over Win promo's loss,loss promo's over Win Promo's

It would technically allow a person to get stuck way higher then he is supposed to be. This doesn't happen when you get promoted tho, so they don't need to put a buffer in there. Instead they allow you to skip divisions if you play well

This problem wouldn't occur with a normal elo system, where a player wouldn't have promotions, they would just win or lose lp. But, with a tier system stupid rules like these are needed.
