Can we make it so that Banner of Command lets you take over the Dragon and other monster camps?

Then these creatures could fight for your team! It's a balanced idea too because once the enemy team kills your pet monster, they get the bonus associated with killing that monster i.e. a dragon stack, a red buff, etc. It's called "Banner of Command" not "Banner of Strong Minion"

Haha, sorta like Helm of the Dominator eh?

League uses Blue/Red as the contestable "runes" so they shouldn't be MC'able, and dragon is the early game version of Roshan, with Nashor being well... Roshan, but working on the other camps could be interesting. Main problem is they have a poor system for controlling large armies of controlled pets.

How cool would it be if you actually got to place the banner on the ground and it would give benefits to your minions?

"Minions around the banner will target any enemy champion you attack for 3 seconds. Ranged minions get increased range, melee minions get increased movement speed and cannon minions slow on hit."

That would actually make it a banner of COMMAND. The current activate is only nice against solo lane mage champions and there really isn't much of a reason to buy it on anyone. Yeah you could buy it on a support and aid other lanes when you use the active on a minion heading to another lane... but that's not very interesting.

As there is usually a standard bearer who will hold a banner in battle, why not give the banner to a minion which will carry it (buffing the group) and if he dies he drops it and the next same type minion to walk by picks it up to continue carrying it (until it times out). This will extend the average uptime the active gets, and also still allow the enemy to remove it from the lane by kiting/tossing the minion away from lane before killing it so another doesn't pick it up as the next wave comes.

I was kinda thinking that it would be a good "hold the line" item. You drop it and you will get an area that you can defend when you have minions around. Enemies should be able to destroy it with maybe 5 hits.

Another idea I just came up with would be that the banner "charmed" a minion entering its range every 30(ish) seconds and the minion would stop at the banner and stay there and fight enemies entering the aoe. Minion cap would be at 3 melee minions, 3 caster minions and a cannon minion. You could have your own little stationary army :D

I dunno... it's a very unique idea and it possibly has some flaws.

no that would be a little too overpowered I believe. BoC is perfect as it is now.

Muted and reported

It does sound overpowered, but I contest the claim that it's perfect as is. It's only useful if the Promoted minion can spend a considerable amount of time alive and pushing the lane; the active is largely wasted most games.

Banner of Command and Baron Buffed Cannon Minion and good luck

The thing about Banner is you can buff a cannon and leave; baron/elixir of ruin buff you have to remain.
