I completely agree, OP. The main villain of the teaser caught more of my attention than the character they were teasing about. He was pretty badass looking, and Riot would be insane not to capitalize on him as a character concept.

Doubtful, but I wouldn't mind. It has been a while since the Bard release...so maybe.

Riot has confirmed that it is neither Augmented Singed (or singed in general) nor the Urgot rework.

So it is one of two things. Possible new champ (maybe not in the works completely, but possibly watching these forums to see the interest in a champ like that) or it is just filler fighting material for a good video. Someone on Reddit actually mentioned that there was "filler" material in the Kalista preview also. So it could be just fodder.

totally agree. I am a top/jung main and I love tanky champs. When I first saw the video I thought it was a new sion skin. Instead of axe he has just a big damn hand now. But I think I am wrong.

The question i have is: If it was not an actual champion Ekko was fighting, then was that not a pretty epic battle with a no named "henchman?" I mean, if he had that much trouble with a nobody that wasn't even in the League of Legends...how is he going to handle actual legends?

That said, Ekko is damn quick on his feet, and incredibly precise to boot. If a no named Henchmen was that good at reading ekko's movements and punishing him for every swing he took, does it not say something about the calibur of opponents Ekko has to deal with.

That said, Big Dude looks like a Stanwick production. This dude needs to be stopped. First he steals credit for Blitzcrank now he's keeping his name off of Viktor's research? We need a scientist smackdown ASAP.

I'm sorry but you seem to be confusing cliche visual design for distinctive. Ekko is just another weeaboo champion. Boy hero? Yep. Stupid hair? Check. Big(gish) sword? Yeah that too. The big baddy had a really freaking giant mechanical arm. That was more distinctive than anything about Ekko, though yes he was rather cliche too. I guess on the upside we're not getting another Myazaki knockoff for a champion...for now...

He is NOT a weaboo hero. He is a steampunk hero. More along the lines of a comic book hero.

His sword was actually realistically sized unlike Tryndamere Garen Riven .

More than one champ has a sword. More than one champ has an axe. More than one champ uses guns. I'm not seeing the issue. Obviously his kit would need to be very different from Vi's, probably more of a tanky immobile bruiser rather than the mobile ganking bruiser that Vi is. Seriously though, that giant fist that is much bigger than Vi's just screams for a kit to be built around it.

Eh, not really. Besides the fact that making a champion with bigger hextech hands than Vi would eslipse her character's uniqueness (In the same way people have been worried in the past about a Dragon champion raining on Shyvana's parade), the guy in the trailer was super generic and boring as hell. I'd be glad not to see any of him again.

the problem with this guy is that he has no gimmick. his stuff would just be stuff ripped straight from singed/vi, and league makes a point to give every champ a different angle on a problem. garen's sword is a paladin's blade, ornate and sacntified. Graves' shotgun is bigger than he is, and let's be honest, we didn't have a wild wester before him. tryndamere is the barbarian. jayce is literally wielding a weapon that i have never seen any other character in anything ever use.

all these guys have a more unique niche in league than "another noxizaunite that hits stuff rly hard and is big"

Hextech hands aren't exactly a sword, they define Vi's entire kit AND her entire lore. That'd be like giving a new champion Ezreal's bow bracelet or Sivir's blade.

And? Unless the lore says they are actually unique I don't see a problem. It's not like the guy in the video looks anything like Vi. He has one fist as nearly big as his body while Vi has a pair of smaller fists. I don't see any issue. You could even tie their lore together somehow.
