Not Even the Illusion of Choice

The anger isn't large enough for the rant boards, and while this isn't concerning anything specifically in game, rather the client, I felt this to be an appropriate place to place this.

I got a 10 game chat restriction. I don't really mind all that much, because I do get heated in a lot of games because you already damn well know how these players can get. But then I read the chat logs from the two games that got the reports, and honestly? The more recent one wasn't even bad. The worst thing I said was "Fuck you" after being sworn at by a toxic team mate. The earlier game holds a little more weight, but the worst I said in that chat log was accusing ww of feeding my lane, the line "Holy jungle difference batman!", and "Who paid him?" and "bg" when they were pushing down nexus. That one was more toxic, and I can see a world in which it is punishable, but if that were the criteria, literally no one would have access to chat.

Whatever though. I got my chat ban, it is what it is. What I do think is wrong is forcing you to click "I understand" because I clearly don't understand. I will not "get out of the penalty box" because if someone is playing like a degenerate, I will let them know about it. It's the nature of the game, and the way I do it isn't even harmful. Honestly? Let me click a button that reads "I don't understand" and triple my chat banned games because I will not lie to myself or anyone and feign understanding of a punishment from a salty ww player, or a pyke that would not stop harrassing me all game because my computer was dying and I had no way to fix it.

Give me an I don't understand button.

I will not click "I Understand". I tried exiting and logging back in. Same message window pops up. I uninstalled and am in the process of reinstalling.

If this doesn't work, I will try to wait for the game to have to update into its next patch. If Riot still wants to force me to lie, I will either stop playing, or take a really long break and play some games that actually lead to enjoyment when playing.

EDIT: Reinstalling doesn't work. Also, for those of you who have never had a restriction, you can't even exit the client normally, as the only button you can select is "I understand". I had to close out via the icon on the task bar. I'll update when the next patch hits to see if that unlocks my client.

Change it to an 'I need anger management classes'.

"I will NOT refine my behavior for the benefit of strangers! LET ME HARASS PEOPLE ONLINE RIOT COME ON"

You were not likely banned off one game- Rather a history of negative chat logs and behavior that eventually triggered IFS and slapped you with a chat restriction as a warning your patterns are unwelcome and to improve. Otherwise youre more than welcome to leave. No one, especially not Riot, cares much.

What is it with people here thinking that they are able to do whatever they want just because someone else is doing it? YOU and ONLY YOU are responsible for your actions. What someone else does is completely pointless, meaningless and irrelevant.
