I Keep Losing LP and Getting Penalized Unfairly

So this has happened a few times and twice in the past week. I am in champion select, i switch tabs for a second, and when i return to my client, someone's time is at 0 and.... it freezes there and nothing happens. I can still type in chat so the whole client isn't frozen, but I'm stuck there until it kicks me out for not picking/banning a champion when I was never given the option to, and the game is punishing me for this happening which is what really sucks. I took a few LP losses this was and have been forces to wait to join queue, and this isn't fair at all. Not sure what can be done, but if you can do anything, please help.
