Which of the 4 major assassin reworks do you think are the worst, and best

Title, just a reminder, ima describe them for you if ya dont know exactly what happened.

Katarina - more spinning, more jumping. Has daggers that she throws on the ground that she can pick up to deal damage. Each daggar picked up reduces the cd of shunpo.

Talon - went from roaming loser to roaming king. Now can jump over walls freely and can stack his abilities to deal extra damage, plus a change in his q dealing more damage the closer his target is.

LeBlanc - now has more deception tools and more combos. All her spells apply the sigil but she hasta wait before triggering it, and a 5 second wait before she can use the sigil again. Also has a global clone and a clone to cast her spells with her.

Rengar - slash slash slash slash.... Q now slashes twice and ferocity loses its stacks overtime. Changes in his heal to where he heals based off the damage he received plus a cleanse on an empowered roar. Also changes in his ult where he only sees the nearest enemy champion.

So tell me which ones you think are the best, and worst and EXPLAIN

Kat and Leblanc were sucessful reworks

Rengar and Talon missed the mark and made one of them less important and the other still have the same fundamental flaws with added issues.

Yeah talon (while I love the parkour aspect) feels lacking, and Rengar still maintains the "YOU DIE IN .01 SECONDS!"

Yeah I agree, although I wouldn't say that talon missed the mark, just hit a different mark

Talon was the worst out of the four

I feel all the reworks did a great job. Not one of them I can say was a mistake or disaster and any issues they may have are simply things that need minor tweaks.

  1. As a long time Talon main, Talons was phenomenal overall. flashing out his strengths and overall making him more rewarding and giving him more sense of skill and accomplishment while still making him fair and healthy as opposed to previously being a walking nuke with a blink, and in doing so without compromising hat made Talon Talon. People who played him purely for the ease of pressing all your buttons on him will claim it is terrible but those who took the time to taste the fruits of his evolution know the truth, and that is that the Blade's Shadow is back and better than ever. To give you an idea, Talon received his first true flat buff since release last patch. He's received quality of life and bug fixes sure but never a true buff, which is only indicative of just how much more healthy he is as a champion now, as he is allowed to receive buffs now. He now has tons of things separating him from his Ilk outside of the fact that you can get your damage off faster than Zed, but is otherwise inferior on all fronts. Hell, early game, Talon actually can threaten Zed quite hard now. And While Zed has the better and safer and more consistent laning and target selection, consistent mobility, as well as stat efficiency, Talon has better roaming and flanking, still has a faster burst window and also has stronger multi kill potential. Talon's New Passive is what really ties it all together, being a very simple premise but with multiple ways of stacking it as well as having to think about how you are actually gonna proc it. As Talon needs to get a basic attack off to get the damage off, this means it isn't as simple as blowing your loud on someone (at least unless you are incredibly fed) but more precisely how you plan on stacking your passive , in what way and on how many people, as well as how you plan to proc it once you do. You see, unlike Zed who has 1 clear kill condition in a realistic scenario, Talon has multiple, and how he reaches them is based on the situation, the decision the Talon player makes and how he executes upon it. With W stacks on W , 2 on R and 1 on Q, Talon can choose between stacking his passive on 1 person really quickly, on multiple people at a relative speed, or multiple time son the same target at a more moderate speed, and how he plans to do this really never ends in possibilities, as each hit of his spells is equally as effective in terms of stacking it, and His Q in deciding if he needs the extra damage or the positioning/mobility in doing it so, which just ties his kit together in a very impromptu, but nonetheless effective and solid way that is incredibly fitting of Talon as a character and also stays true to what his core playstyle always was even before the rework. Talon's E is the icing on the cake, giving Talon very flexible even if situational mobility, making his engages and escapes both play out and feel off the cuff and in the moment as opposed to being a natural par for the course type deal like Zed or Leblanc, which is also something that stays true to Old Talon, as he had limited Mobility outside of his Engage tool (E) and the Invisibility from his ulti being an Escape, but Talon basically having to foot it and find his way out and hard and dirty way , and E lets him do this in a way that both keeps this while also making it more consistent, but what it does is make Talon's trademark roaming all the more potent, as Talon was relegated to roaming before, not necessarily because his kit made it really effective but because he had to to make the most of his kit. And I love it soo much.

  2. Katarina was also great in that now the more deep mechanical knowledge and technical display katarina has always had can now be properly expressed. Katarina, despite how braindead she is in practice before her rework, was actually a very deep champion mechanically, and you knew this when you saw someone actually executing on it. its just that similar to Talon, she wasn't allowed to be strong because of how she was tuned to be effective with the bottom of her skill floor. A good Katarina was something to behold, but often being that good was beyond unnecessary. Her rework not only allows her to be strong, but gates her strength behind the technical and mechanical depth of the champion, while also doing so in a telegraphed and easy to read way that doesn't feel like a bunch of shit is happening and you don't even understand how or why. Ive heard nothing but high praise of the Katarina rework from all my friends that play her, all saying the same thing. "She is harder to play, but more rewarding." "She takes more skill, but you can do way more with her now", Surely enough, I can't even play Katarina anymore but pre rework, i could easily get triple and quadrakills while only having played like 4 games with her in my league career, making me utter the words "Katarina is too mechanically intensive for me to play without practicing her first" which would otherwise be blasphemous before her rework, and on that front, I can't call the rework anything but a success.

  3. Leblanc is a special case. While i do think she is broken atm, it isn't for reasons to blame the rework entirely as what is breaking her are relics of her old design. but i digress. I also feel her rework was phenomenal. As a leblanc player myself, the most fun i always had with her were not the moments where i instagibbed people with my rotation, but when i was juking and mind gaming the fuck out of them. This has always been what i felt was what the true identity of leblanc but was simply being overshadowed by her ability to delete people in half a second by pressing Q-R-W on people. More than ever i feel the true essence of Leblanc is actually brought out thanks to this rework. Whereas before your harass pattern was purely about pressing your buttons fast enough so people had no time to retaliate, Leblanc now has to play the dive game and act within a window before she can port back from her dive. She basically ports forward and acts within the 4 second timer then ports back into lane, which is far more interesting for both the player and the opponent. With more control of what spell she copies as well as her Ulti clone being controllable, I feel like messing with the opponents minds and always keeping them guessing is far more instrumental in her success now than it was before, and since it was the main goal of the rework, saying it was successful is indisputable. And while i do feel she is a bit too powerful atm, as the game goes on i feel she kinda gets forced into having to rely on misdirection as a fall back to remain relevant, which is mostly a good thing.

  4. Rengar, Rengar Rengar Rengar Fucking Rengar .... Here is something that may or may not be a secret if you pay attention to my activity on the boards at all. Rengar has been and still is my most hated champion in the history of league of legends. You kids thought he was bad before his rework? he thought he was bad AFTER his rework? i played with this PoS back in S3 when his ulti has no indicator and he literally made your screen gray in a fraction of a nanosecond with no counterplay. I deadass got traumatized by that shit as an innocent Lux just minding her business placing wards as a support, and was too scared to leave base because he was focusing me all game, and the second I took 2 steps out of base to try and help someone and then got cold feet and walked back, I spotted his ass exiting stealth because he was waiting for me. With all this in mind, knowing that i have this deep a disdain for the champ an that it still persists, i STILL THINK the rework was an overall success. Yes that's right. I feel that the changes to what is often deemed a huge mess of a champion rework, as well as my all time most hated champion was good and that rengar is in a far more balanced and fair state than he has ever been and here me out on this. The biggest contributing factor is his ultimate change. Now that it singles as soon as he uses it and he can only see 1 person, it now has clear and proper counterplay that actually makes it admittedly fun and interesting for both parties. whereas before Rengars ulti was basically a free pass to someones booty, now it basically turns the rift into a monster movie, which is incredibly fitting and appropriate given Rengar's design and conceptual influence. As in monster movies, the cardinal rule of "never leave the group" applies here. If Rengar catches you out of position alone, you are food as you have noone to cover for you, and probably deserve to die, and whatsmore, instead of being an asshole, he is encouraged to pick off every member of the cast one by one, again, just like in a monster movie. You know he is out there and he is looking to get you so you can either hide behind allies to remove his line of sight of you, which the Rengar must play around, or immediately run for cover if this isn't an option. Because he can only see 1 person, it also means you can get a grasp of where he is relative to you based on the line of sight he has in relation to you, so if he sees the Leona in font of you but not you, he is probably in the general direction Leona is in, and this also makes the play pattern far more interesting for the Rengar player as well, a before his ulti would just let him see everything and thus the optimal use of it was "use this whenever it is off CD and run up to the nearest person and delete them", his new ulti now has to be used more intelligently, as both a means of scouting as well as used moreso when the time is right, as he now has to work with more information to make the best use of it. Making his Q also was a nice change as now his Damage isn't completely unavoidable. As horrible as it feels when you get jumped on by Rengar, I can't help but feel outplayed when it happens as I was either out of position, or the enemy team destroyed mine and Rengar is cleaning me up. And for those reasons all together, i cant help but think they did a good job with the

Akali is worst rework. second was talon

LeBlanc was probably the most op out of them all. kat is pretty hard to kill now too.

LBmyBB1 votes

Well akali wasn't a major rework

Big Lincoln1 votes

i think they were all bad

kat, lb are complete cancer now, rengar is supremely overrated, and talon lost reliability in exchange for gimmicks which makes me hate him automatically

rengar. the champion was made less feast and famine and more flexible. the best way to play him is bruiser. if he wants to survive he has to use Empowered W . means he can't really 100-0 instagib you. if he wants to instagib he has to use Empowered Q. I have no problem playing against rengar. and I like to play him but not always he isn't the best champion to carry with.

the other two need number changes. katarina was reworked to make a good kat godlike. and a bad kat pure uselessness. they need to stop doing that crap. she does too much damage in lane and can practically one shot you at level 3 in lane with ignite.

lb just needs some number tunning.

the worst is talon. that champion outside of level 2 cheese is god awful. i really don't care if talon tryhard mains have 50% winrate with him hes garbage. all of his damage is in his passive now. they made him from a reliable assassin to a very unreliable one.

Worst: Rengar, not even much of an assassin anymore, def a better diver. His kit is super clunky and only works due to high numbers Best: Talon, I think he just needs a little nudge and he'll be in a good spot. Of all the reworks, i think his kit is the healthiest.
