The random number goddess, who still worships her?
I used to think crit was really cool back in the day, when you could halve and opponent's current health with a lucky shot. But to my continued frustration that is exactly why I hate it now, it requires a lucky shot and I could just as easily lose a fight by being unlucky despite any gold lead I might have over them. Carries are unreliable these days with such a dependency on crit, people can definitely think they will win a fight against another adc with 20% more crit chance but that is subject to chance not superior tactics and skill. I would rather get outplayed then accidently outgunned... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Exdil7N1Mdo
The reign of RNG has gone on for long enough in my opinion, times are moving on and while league was a cool gimmick the game needs to catch up.
Yes champs have a reliance on crit mechanics for the time being but all this requires are simple number adjustments, make Draven's damage come from the multiplier of throwing and catching axes albeit with adjusted numbers to compensate the removal of crit.
Make Corki's damage come from dps with his auto attacks and casting, give his auto attacks split scaling maybe.
Give Caitlyn improved headshot mechanics and don't make the damage scale with crit chance.
Quinn can use her dps from q and harrier
Graves can fire more bullets based on his attack speed rather then actually giving him attack speed (though improved reload times must be a given)
I have a thesis of changes for yasuo that let him fit with his identity without needing crit
