"If you're above your elo, you will climb"

Technically true. Been playing ranked as solo and this is how my games have been going:

win lose win lose win lose lose win win lose win

Like dafuq? lol. BUT I have been losing 18-20 LP for a loss and gaining 20-21 :P. So technically, I am climbing-which means technically, that statement holds true lol. Now at 33 LP instead of 30. I HAVE CLIMBED XD

you SHOULD win more lp than you lose, so basically you're climbing real slow.

If you start losing more than you're winning, then you will start losing more LP than what you're currently gaining, but that's another story.

I remember all of S2 I would gain 4 for a win, lose 26 for a loss, and s3, and s4 finally got it to turn around.

Your MMR is right at or just a hair above where you are at.

So you're netting 2-3 LP every time you trade wins/losses. That means after 66 to 100 games with a 50% win ratio you'll reach a promotion series. However, if you win up getting a 55% or 60% win ratio that number of games drops a HUGE amount. Every game matters.

Why would you expect to climb by losing as many games you win?

I didn't actually. I was just testing if that statement was true like I actually didn't believe. Turns out it is.

Although I lost like 4 games in a row then won one :/ so that sucks xD

It can happen, but that's typically only when your MMR is higher than your current rank.

For example, if you had a 50% win rate while getting matched with Gold 1 players while you are in Gold 4, you would still climb (due to high gains, lower losses).
