Is there a reason that there is no option for disabling ability use on minimap?

For clarity, I'm not asking for the removal of said feature; I'm specifically asking why the option to turn it off doesn't exist.

The only time I have ever used the minimap to fire an ability somewhere was by accident, and it is always in the wrong direction. While i haven't done so in some time now, I was browsing through several options in the controls/gameplay menu and saw that it still isn't an option and was wondering why.
