Alternate theory, ez is fine and bad players first timing him tank his winrate. According to lolalytics, he has the absolute highest pick rate of any champion at over 30%. Anything that shows 2 GAs as the most common build is probably pretty fucking unreliable.
I agree, he is a useless champ that says "Muh dmg tho" when all he did was spam Q off Cd for the entire game but none of that damage ever really amounted to anything in a teamfight. He's just a super safe adc that players STILL manage to feed with somehow. The only time an Ezreal has ever carried me was an AP ezreal mid back in season 6. But I'm 99% sure he was a high elo smurf.
As a support main I have two problems with EZ , poor wave clear , and low lane priority . He is great in the hands of a high elo player. Very high skill cap champ that requires alot of practice a little klepto good RNG and surviving the laning phase

Is there some new Ezreal playing script out? I've been seeing Ez over and over lately and they play far better and more aggressively than the average Ez i'm used to. I had one game before last that outtraded Lucian in lane! Lucian! The one botlane champ who's weaker than Vayne early and he outtraded an absurdly early focused marksman! Like, either that's some smurf or a hella good bot!
there's something wrong with the website you're checking. no way people are building two GAs in most games. additionally, barring that exception, the build you're describing is probably one of the builds ezreal has historically been strongest with. It's exceedingly powerful once muramana gets stacked, and scales well into the lategame with the 2nd tear item. ON TOP of that, ezreal, with this as his most common build, is one of the highest damaging champions in the entire game, and frequently outdamages almost every other ADC. The build is good. If it's not succeeding in your games, it literally just means your Ez players are unlucky or shit. Or both. Ez is a champion with a persistently low winrate, since he's almost always at least decently popular, and he's a relatively high skillcap champion (if pretty easy to grasp generally), so people playing him that aren't dedicated to that task (which is most of them) probably aren't going to win most of their games. Ez is far from a bad champion right now, he's just constantly a bad pick for someone who doesn't know what they're doing, or isn't skilled at the game. (0r both)
IMO he can't be picked into every match up. He needs a support that can pretty much 2v1 the lane for him to actually hold out until his powerspike kicks in.
