Please riot, what did Zac do wrong?

Zac was the first champ I ever played, and I loved him from the very beginning. his playstyle, his personality, everything. He still is one of my all time favorites. I agree that he was too strong at the very beginning, but he got gutted so hard. I mean, every patch for the longest time after that had at least 1 zac nerf in it. Now, after all the tanks in the game were properly nerfed, zac remains unviable. here I will list everything I see as wrong with zac

his passive is like an aatrox passive, except 100 times weaker because his opponents have all the time in the world to destroy his crazy squishy bloblets. part of the problem with this half of the passive is that smite effects it, and there is now an aoe smite too! then for his other passive, it heals for a pathetically low amount considering the health cost on his abilities, they have a really short pickup range, they blend in with the terrain, and they fly between you and the nearest enemy champ so they will usually fly out incredibly far away where you will lose more hp trying to get them than you will gain.

his q has a pretty small slow with low base damage and meh scalings.

his w has too long a cd for a spam ability, and too little damage for a burst ability.

his e, while being a rather long range, has a short knock back for such an easily avoided ability. I mean, he charges for super long, then flies at you slowly for a short knock back. I know that it just got a duration buff in this patch, and I think that helped a lot, but it still annoys me how you are almost guaranteed to miss it unless you do it from a bush or elsewhere outside of vision. for the most part though, I think this ability is fine.

his ult. why does his ult need to have a long cooldown? it's a 1 second knock up. I could see it having such a long cooldown if each bounce knocked up or if it knocked up for longer, but its just a 1 sec knock up.

my suggestions for possible changes to make him viable again:

lower the time it takes him to revive from his passive. a lot. (could also potentially classify it as a heal so spirit visage effects it)

increase the heal on his bloblets and/or make them go between him and the nearest enemy (not champ) within a shorter range (making them closer to him than them would be nice)

lower the cooldown on his w by 1 second or make it's cooldown reduce to 3 s at lvl 5.

give his ult a MUCH shorter cooldown or make it knock back multiple times (I think that last one would probably be too strong)

could potentially give his abilities a longer range based on his max hp/size.

please leave any comments or notes, and please upvote. we want zac back.

i think his q is fine but maybe a little slow buff. his w needs its cooldown more than halved. His e needs faster midair speed. and his ulti needs to increase his move speed and have more damage or maybe a slow on double bounces

His ult already does increase his movement speed, ramping up over time.

I like the slow idea though, that sounds interesting.

Okay i disagree with most of this.... His passive i will give you. But for the rest: His Q is a strong laning ability on a low cooldown, in the jungle it is a bit lackluster but helps a lot with ganks, since you want to keep them slowed so your allies can catch up. His W is perfect for a tank. He is supposed to be in the midst of a fight for a long time, not go in once, burst people and die. For something on a 3 second cooldown (less if you pick up the blobs) 3-5% health shred is amazing when you can get up to 4 of them off in one fight. That's more damage than most tanks do at all, and thats just one of his abilities. His E has very strong base damage and when maxed an incredibly long range. Next patch his knock-up on it is being buffed, and it leads perfectly into all of his other skills. It is the glue that holds him together. His ult may only be a one second knock up, but he also gains movement speed, drops several of his % health regening blobs, and knocks them in a specific direction based on where he is. This is incredibly useful for securing kills, because you can knock squishy targets back into your team if you place it right. All in all, he is a highly mobile, high utility tank and i think that trading off a bit of damage for all of that usefulness is acceptable especially since he still does quite a bit of % health damage that cant be blocked by armor.

well, I was talking about zac jungle actually, which is where he is intended for. top lane is just something that works as well, and I agree with what you're saying about the q but the slow is rather low imo. as for the w, it doesn't have a 3 second cooldown. it has a 5 second cooldown at all ranks. and while the health shred is nice, it actually doesn't do quite that much damage bc of mr. and I must disagree with him dealing more damage than most tanks. most tanks either have powerful burst or low but sustained dmg. zac is kinda weird, and hes in between, mostly because of his w cooldown. it should be shorter for sure. His e, as I said it's pretty much completely fine, i just don't like how easily predicted and avoided it is. his ult you actually can only position super well in early ganks. once you get to teamfights you count yourself lucky to hit the whole team on the first and second bounces, let alone getting them all to go to the right spot.

also, fyi, just because its % hp dmg doesn't mean it cant be blocked by defensive stats. it deals magic damage, but the magic damage is % hp.

He doesnt need a big buff so no

ok, you gotta give a reason, you cant just go in and say he doesn't need a buff. after all, it's generally agreed that he was severely overnerfed.
