Supports should go on WARD STRIKE if your teammates dont ward so you can teach them a lesson

If you see on the map your three wards but no other wards by your teammates then supports should have the right to strike and not ward to teach your teammate a lesson. This is the only way to teach people to ward. They updated greater stealth totem which allows you to charge up to 2 wards. Yet ur teammates:

  1. Does not want to update trinket
  2. They update it but they dont use it
  3. They only use it once and dont want to use the second charge

Supports are stuck with this stupid end game inefficiency item (sightstone) that is purposefully not getting any upgrade said by RiotXypherous http://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/2vkmd2/ruby_sightstone_should_recharge_wards_over_time/coj0ark So if we are stuck with this item than you better update and and place 2 wards down unless you buy sweeper. If not then supports should go on ward strike.

I think, for the most part in solo Q, you should at least control your side of the map. Top, mid, and jungle should be getting wards to cover the top half of the map, while the support focuses on the bottom half. I dont think the ADC really needs to purchase more than a pink here and there, because the support should have his area covered.

I know when I support I run into the issue where I am trying to squeeze as much info as possible out of 3/4 wards, and its just hard to do. Esp. when you start replacing them around objectives and giving up all the vision you worked hard for on the other side of the map.

But this is just my opinion. I know I've gotten to the point where when I am playing support, I only ward where my ADC is or is going to be, or where the person carrying the game is, like my strong mid. If the other guys cant muster up enough money to ward their area so they dont get plowed, well tough luck.

For the most part, though, you can place a couple wards on both sides of mid and have a decent idea of what is going on. Most people only go into the jungles at those areas later in the game.

As a support main, I feel that is a really bad way of looking at Sightstone. It's not directly stat-efficient, but by its very nature it is one of the most efficient items in the game. It creates team advantages. It neutralizes or negates opponent advantages. Once you've used it 11 times, you've more than covered the cost of the wards, and a conscientious support often drops a ward per minute or more. Supports don't rely on combat stats for efficiency, we rely on augmenting team capability. We enable teammates to do their thing, and make them more effective in the process.
