Has this happen to you as a support?

You either buff your adc or cc the enemies thinking its BATTLE ON and only to see your adc running away, while leaving you with all spells on cooldown [zombie-nunu-tears]

...I thought that's what I was supposed to do when Supports do cool stuff. It's their turn to play, so I should let them get on with it, right? R-right?

To understand why these adcs are utter cowards and run away, you've gotta understand a certain type of mentality when playing squishy ranged champs. This cowardly mentality is developed after experiences of being burst down quickly or even instantly, over and over again due to being labeled as a priority target in the eyes of the entire enemy team.

Now, not all adcs have this sort of thought process. Some even thought that way before but have gotten over it and can push past their fear of damage and death in order to realize more opportunities to go aggressive. But please realize that this mentality exists for a number of players, and even though you may end up with one of them in your game, there are a multitude of ways to work with this handicap, like roaming to other lanes, playing according to your lane partner's pace, or waiting for a jungle gank before going aggressive.

or when you're bard and you do a doublestun and your low HP ADC thinks it's an engage and dies.

Then in this case, I don't buff my ADC afterwards. I instead just don't do anything because he doesn't do anything.

Eventually he will have to learn that he has to do something, and that's where he will get the buffs again.

This isn't anything new, but I can see you are learning, OP.

It goes both ways. Support players are not immutable strategic geniuses just for picking support, and are just as capable of picking bad fights then (incorrectly) blaming the ADC for not following up as ADCs are of mistakenly running away from a fight that would have been winnable.

Don't you hate it as an ADC when your support engages for no reason?

It goes both ways

PREACH!

Even worse, JUST played a game where my ADC waited for my buffs to expire BEFORE going in and attacking. I mean, since I was playing Lulu, he was basically denying me any influence on the fight.

I especially love it when i'm playing Nami and land my Q on enemy ADC and I'm like "Yeah! It's go time!" So I cast E on my ADC and they just casually continue to CS while I'm battling 1v2 with the enemy.

end sarcasm

... >_>

As a support main I tend to wait and see how my ADC partner plays. I see if they either play confidently/aggressively or very passive/safe, which I can judge once we get level 2 first. I usually play Poppy support so as soon as we hit level 2, I engage and that's when I can have a decent understanding of what kind of ADC I'm playing with. I've played with both types and I adapt to what ever the ADC is. If they are really safe and passive, it's no big deal for me since I can say that I have a lot of patience. At times I feel as if I have more patience than 90% of the community. The worse is when both of us are not on the same page and at times it's my fault for having a bad day or I'm not as focused as I should be, making it harder for the ADC. I try not to blame others for bad trades/losses since it all starts with me, unless they are making an incredibly stupid decision to engage 3 enemies and they have 1/3 of their health and we have no vision further behind those 3 enemies. I do the best I can to make the ADC's job easier by trying to zone out the pair we're up against or safely engaging to make them scared to get that last hit. I'll suicide to make sure my ADC gets away alive, especially when their death would mean more gold for the enemy. Yup, I'm the kamikaze support lol. The one thing I do sometimes is end up with the kills, unintentionally though. Either because my ADC and I (or just me) did way more damage than I expected, I was making sure the enemy did not kill my ADC (especially when both ADCs are really low) or my ADC was not quick enough to get that last hit on the enemy and lastly, because so many times I left the enemy at such low health and stopped so that my ADC gets the kill, but somehow the enemy walks away with 10 hp. So at times I would end up with more kills than my ADC and they would say that I'm stealing kills and saying that they don't have a support. So should I just try to NOT kill anyone, at all? It's not like I'm trying to purposely get them behind; they're still getting their cs and getting their items while the enemy is dead and losing out on gold.

That's why I started playing Zyra. Whenever I engage - i get a kill. And if that greedy AD wants the assist - they have to engage with me. And if he base in the wrong moment it is better for you - enemy botlane could tower-dive you and give you a double kill. When you get enough kills you are free to roam and ward the whole map. A fed Zyra is never out of position - the poor soul who catch her is out of position. Once I got caught by 4 of the enemy team, however i managed to smash my head over the keyboard. I died instantly, but i took their AD and midlaner with me.

Why I no longer play zilean support in Bronze he is still decent mid but the number of ults wasted by our adc flashing out of a fight or our assassin flashing away when I ult them makes me cry.
