Why no compensation for captain enhancement for boots?

I understand why you move the +10% bonus movement speed boost to minion on the captain enhancement to an exilir potion. But shouldn't you reduce the price of captain as you removed an effect of the item which mean your decreasing its value?

I'm not really sure why the most team-oriented boot enchantment, which is typically going to get purchased by the support or the tank (i.e. generally low-income champions), is also the most expensive. Even before the nerf, it likely deserved to have its cost brought down to 475 gold.

That is true it is the most expensive. That is weird.

You know you're absolutely right about that. It's no longer worth the gold.

I know right plus they didnt even mention in patch note. So secretive.

I have won several stupid games as full tank/utility Braum, split-pushing because my team was morons, with Captain enchantment and 79 AD.

  1. what do captain boots and your ad have to do with eachother?

  2. what did captain boots do to make your solo split push in a "stupid game" winnable?

  1. It shows that I had absolutely no power on my own. Split-pushing with 79 AD requires total dependence on minions.
  2. They got my minions down the lane faster, which let me push tower faster. Most people in Bronze don't understand that the game is about destroying nexus, not getting kills.

...People actually buy Captain?

BallisticMouse4 votes

I normally do if I am a tanky, team fight-engage champion like Nautilus/Maokai/Etc

The5lacker3 votes

Elixer of Iron exists now. Captain is completely outdated. 400g for 25% Tenacity and Slow Resist, better body blocking, and the MS following passive.

BallisticMouse2 votes

Elixer of Iron is temporary, boots are permanent.

but do they stack?

ShadowNinetails1 votes

They do.

Bouffon dAnglais1 votes

Only on Elise, Skarner, Nidalee, Hecarim, Urgot and Volibear. Because they have more legs.

Tiropat1 votes

so how do boots work on Anivia Cassiopeia Nocturne and Velkoz ?

Kijinx1 votes

I buy them on my janna, seeing as how i usually have insane MS on her anyway, if my team needs to escape, follow me! If they need to chase, follow me!

Lwnt1 votes

Lol same I buy it on Janna to

The5lacker1 votes

I wouldn't recommend running into the enemy team first as Janna without a Banshee's, Randuin's, and at least half a fifth of Jack Daniels in you.

Rito hates it its not meta

I don't know any captain named Enhancement For Boots.

And I surely don't know of any reaseon he should get compensated.

Another oversight by Riot.

It was +20% movespeed on minions AND on player spawned minions like Tibbers and Voidlings. Captains boots and Crystal Scepter on Annie means that you basically can't run away from the bear.

Or at least it did. Then it got removed because reasons.

Lwnt1 votes

Oh shoot sorry I thought it was +10%

I don't understand something else about boots.. can someone help me.. the alacrity boots give you 20% movement speed.. while furor gives you 12% when you hit someone with a spell... is the furor shoes movement speed buff stackable, where if you hit 3 people with single target spells you get 36% movement speed? or is it just stupid to buy furor when alacrity is faster at all times

LankPants3 votes

Alacrity give 20 movespeed flat, if you have 400 you'll increase to 420 before soft caps. Furor gives 12%, if you have 400 movespeed you'll increase to 448 before soft caps.

TheKingDodo1 votes

Riot hates supports and tanks. Obviously. Despite all that talk about Baron giving utility boost instead of flat stats, riot still like stats better by giving dragon tons of it. and making it permanent (with the exception of the 5th)

Rebonack1 votes

Alacrity gives a flat 20 Movespeed boost.

Furor gives +12% after booping someone.

So if you have 400 movespeed, Furor would boost that up to 448 after attacking something where as Alacrity would give you 420 at all times.

Well, not exactly. Because of diminishing returns on movespeed. But you get the idea.

BillDance1 votes

ahhhh % vs flat... I cant believe I have over looked that for so long.. thank you so much

It would be cool if it had an active. No boots have an active.
