Current meta needs major fixes/improvements.

Disclaimer: I've not been playing much recently, so I'm talking about what I'm seeing in the LCS and in Challenger streams, so the games that more or less define meta, that with time spreads into lower tiers.

What I see Is ADCs have so much power (their own combined with supports) that they are outclassing and invalidating an entire Juggernaut(melee fighter, skirmisher - you name it) class, as well as assassins.

There used to be 2 classes (except couple sustained dps mages) who were good at bringing down tanks and objectives: fighters and marksmen. Fighters had high damage due to their semi-damage oriented build and their kits, as well as some tankiness, but were melee; marksmen dealt less damage until the very late game(they used to rush a lifesteal item as well as a 5-6th defensive item, like the old GA), but had the range advantage. Later on, marksmen received several buffs and their damage got much higher at all stages of the game. So this brings us to a question: why would you bring something that deals moderate to high damage while being melee and kiteable when you can bring a ranged right clicker who deals the same or even higher damage from range? If you are not a full tank like Maokai or Galio, you melt in a couple of seconds, so melee carries won't be as effective as ranged. The answer is - you take marksmen and those who can peel for marksmen.

Now, this causes other issues. Mages and assassins used to have their particular roles. Mages used to be a CC threat to help kite fighters. Which they still can do, if fighters are picked. Their other role is doing AoE magic damage which is probably still fine.

Assassins used to counter mages in lane and then roam and be a threat to marksmen, to prevent their late game scaling. They arguably still do well against mages, but struggle immensely against marksmen. Currently marksmen can reach a point when they can actually assassinate an assassin, and it happens fairly early in the game (at about 3 items). Part of this is support itemization that has not only been improved (which is not a bad thing in itself), but it is tailor made to buff autoattackers. There is not a single offensive support item in the game that helps any other class except auto-attackers (so Marksmen). Shields and damage reduction, and that's it. All these shields and censer buff applied to marksmen makes them nearly impossible to kill.

TL DR /conclusion: Currently the meta is effectively reduced to 2 classes: marksmen and tanks. The only other options available are those who can provide additional protection to marksmen via shields or peel. Fighters, assassins and (arguably and IMO) mages feel bad to play. Overall power should be equalized to bring all classes back to viability.
