The Karma changes I'll post them here:

Gathering Fire (passive)

CD refund on spell hit increased to 2/2.5/3 at level 1/7/13 from 2 at all levels. CD refund on basic attack increased to 1/1.25/1.5 at level 1/7/13 from 1 at all levels

Renewal (R+W)

No longer deals extra damage New Effect: Increases root duration (if triggered) by .75/1/1.25/1.5 seconds

Inspire (E)

Cooldown lowered to 10/9/8/7/6 seconds from 10 seconds at all ranks Mana cost lowered to 60/65/70/75/80 from 60/70/80/90/100. Shield amount decreased to 80/110/140/170/200 from 80/120/160/200/240

Defiance (R+E)

No longer deals damage Now increases primary shield by 30/90/150/210 (+30% AP) AoE shield amount increased to 50% of the primary target's shield from 30/70/100/150

To simplify they're turning Karma into almost purely a support. If you look at the** Defiance **change she loses a hefty chunk of her damage for no reason, which I feel is unacceptable. On the flipside they're buffing duration of her CC with the Renewal change, and supports are known for CC. Karma has been fine for ages since the rework and frankly I like having the option to be a mage in lane or a support.

This is an unjustified change that is attempt to expand the support pool by gutting the damage on a mage and making their CC slightly better. unless shes given huuge CC buffs she'll be as abandoned as Taric is in the game in terms of pick rate; don't rob her of damage, shes absolutely fine the way she is and has a use as either a mid lane or top lane even, or support with current build; Giving her versatility that hardline supports don't have.

I understand if Riot wants to up her pick rate, but she won't be picked as a support over the current tanky meta or the ultra powerful ultility supports like sona and soraka, her thing is she has excellent burst damage and a shield that makes for some great clutch plays. Her W can be used as a opener if used well with her Q to secure kills. The E damage with mantra **Defiance ** allows her to have decent lane clear as a AP mage and also a acceptable amount of of AoE damage that also shields allies. The nerf to her **Defiance ** gimps her kill potential and unless compensated appropriately with DAMAGE will lower her pick rate even more.

According to the wiki, karma is a MAGE 1st and a Support 2nd, try not to mix those up won't you... Karma

This is not the most current list of changes. The next set of changes that will go on the PBE was already announced on twitter. The W AP ratio was increased to 0.9, the shield CD was reduced to 8 instead of 6, and the extra root duration on the R+W goes from 0.5 - 1.25 instead of from 0.75 - 1.5.

I'm pretty confident she'll still work as a solo lane mage. Her wave clear and harass with R+Q remains untouched, she can still bait out kills with the R+W, and she gets more cooldown reduction from her passive in most situations. Even playing on the current PBE patch which doesn't have the increased W AP ratio, I've been finding plenty of success with her in a solo lane. The next set of changes will improve that significantly. This may be a bigger buff to her support than to her solo laning, but it helps both.

The feeling I get is that her Midlane is going to be their, but it's more uniform to her Support abilities. She still has the ability to lane, It's just that the main different from lane Karma and Support karma is better ratios, stronger shields, more damage. (think lulu)

I kinda noticed this with riot, when a champ has a mid lane/ support duality, their actual play styles don't change, One just makes use of the gold and AP ratios. And in a sense, that's fine for Karma. I don't really see her as a duelist, or wave clear specialist, which derived from niches of power that are being removed.
