Why exactly is he getting nerfed so hard?

Last 3 weeks of OGN 30% P/B Similar stats in NA LCS and sub 50% win rate. 47% win rate in Solo Q.

For a champion thats supposedly 'too strong' the best players certainly dont seem to think so.

I dont understand how your balance team comes to this arbitrary conclusion that something is 'too strong', particularly when statistics from both competitive play and solo queue seem to indicate otherwise.

It seems to me that you came to the conclusion that he was 'too strong' based on 2 weeks of competitive in which he was nearly 100% P/B. Clearly this 'balance' issue has resolved itself without any changes. This is clearly a case of perceived power not matching up with actual power, and competitive players have already realized this and stopped playing him. If you nerf him he will be trash tier and you will have to buff him in couple patches again as you seem to do on a regular basis (see Yasuo).

First they came for the junglers, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a jungler.

Then they came for the supports, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a support.

Then they came for the tanks, and I did not speak out— Because I did not play tanks.

Then they came for my mid laners—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I really hope Riot sees this and/or thinks about this themselves. My only problem with Riot is the balance team, their nerf guns and buff sticks are a bit trigger happy and most of the time do it in a way that I really don't think is the right direction to go in.

Because his burst and poke is simply too high for how powerful his disengage is. Having as much damage as he does, as much pushing power as he does, and an ultimate that pushes all enemies back a considerable distance, while also creating a wall that can only be bypassed with a blink makes him extremely overpowered in certain situations and average in others. In my opinion, he's getting nerfed because he's extremely oppressive in lane unless you're playing a champion that can either outrange him or has so much mobility that you can outplay him (Zed Yasuo Kassadin Leblanc). Try playing a champ like Talon or Diana against a good Azir in lane. You literally cannot farm from level 3 onward, even under your own turret.

Most banned champion for a reason.

Its hard to have a good winrate when nobody gets to play you.

I think Riot was judging certain champion balances just by watching LCS since Azir was highly ban there, which is pretty stupid, considering the fact that not all of us are as good as the teams there......

so Far Season 5 has been "nerf hard without testing and overbuff without testing"

The Q nerf is fine, he is supposed to be DPS and it is pretty high As much a I love the tower pushing sometimes the sheer amount i do just by pushing the laner out when their jungler is top is absurd t does need a bit of a nerf

the AA range is completely uncalled for

As an Azir main, I can see how my poke can be abusive, but it's entirely possible to get around... And there are definitely champions that can do well against him. I could understand a nerf to Q's cooldown at low levels or the max number of soldiers you can have out at low levels, but I really fail to understand why they're slashing their attack range. That'll be devastating. Honestly, this feels like a nerf that's coming just because people don't know how to play against him, not because he actually needs it.
