For Ekko to get back to 100% health from 5% after an ultimate at level 18.
Health (5% of his base at 18): 97.
R base heal: 200 + 30% (+3.3% per 100 AP).
So assuming he took 1843 damage (enough to put him at 5%), is ultimate would at base values heal him for 752.9. To put him at full he would need the % heal to equal 84.69%. Therefore, his AP scaling would need to equal 54.69%, meaning he needed AT LEAST 1657.3 AP. For comparison, 5 Rabadons + Meijais gives 1014 AP; even with runes, masteries, dragon, baron, and Taric's glorious ultimate you'd be hard pressed to even approach 1500.
For the rest, Veigar's ultimate is also a point and click that doesn't require you to stand right by where he was 4 seconds ago and does not show where it will appear. His stun is 2.25 seconds, and literally any AoE CC can "stun 5 people". Actually HITTING 5 people is an extremely different thing than "this can theoretically hit 5 people". I would personally consider Riven's shield, or maybe Nautilus/Sion's shield, or Janna or Karma's shield much better in many ways. For instance, Riven, Nautilus, and Sion all have around the same strength shields that DON'T require them to dive into a bubble to get, Janna's shield loses 90 base and .1 AP scaling, but can be placed on turrets and other champions and gives AD, and Karma's shield can be placed on other champions and with her ultimate gives a stronger shield in every way while giving half the shield value to everyone nearby. Fizz's W gives %missing hp damage ALWAYS, not only on almost dead targets, and also does flat damage that scales well.
In conclusion, just because you got heavily outplayed does not mean the champion is strong. It could just be your reaction to dying is to QQ instead of learning how to counter or play around something.
