Let's Make Shyvana Good (Not Overbearing) Again
It seems that for the last 2 seasons, shyvana has had an abysmal winrate in the top lane. Her jungling success tends to rely on how strong the current AS/On Hit Jungle item is, and that is its own problem.
The problem with shyvana is that she is in fact a champion that relies on almost nothing but outfarming the enemy laner to have more items and stats, because she has no real utility and isn't that much of a frontliner due to having to rely on others for peeling and initiating.
Whenever certain items like
get nerfed, her winrate goes completely down the drain. Due to her being mostly magic damage and scaling off ad, she couldn't dream to truly benefit from
or most armor/spell pen items. This is a pity due to how well cleaver would benefit her if she didn't do almost exclusively magic damage outside of autos.
Shyvana has always built attack speed to get the most out of her kit damage wise, and builds tanky to get the most out of that attack speed. She also needs items that increase her stickiness like
etc, because she has no real gap closer out of her ult, and she lacks in tenacity.
This is Shyana's main problem over many over junglers and tops; she needs much more in the stats department to be as effective, and this is too expensive to pull off if she isn't snowballed.
Riot has decided to throw some ap scalings and more on hit aa damage onto her Burnout which seems like a compensation due to sated being taken out of the game, but will doubtfully do anything for her jungle and toplane. It seems that whenever something like this happens to a champ like her, they throw on MOAR damage to them, and eventually change the item somewhat back to the way it was, or they find a new item that these new balance changes make them broken on.
Shyvana straight up doesn't need more damage, and she doesn't need to be overly reliant on items. What Shyvana needs is some more utility, either in her ult or E, because it seems like all of the damage is already in one spell (W) and all of the aa enhancers. If her E had a decent slow, then she wouldn't be so hell bent on building to stick to somebody. If her ult had some tenacity in it when she jumps, or that it is unstoppable (not to mention if the cc was stronger and more consistent...).
Shyvana players are just trying to find the new thing to build to replace what they lost, i.e.
. She will eventually abuse another item, and she will either get that item nerfed or herself due to all of this extra damage in burnout.
Riot please consider taking away the damage buffs, and add some actual utility to her kit so that she has something to fall back on instead of being nothing but a ball of stats raid boss.
