How do I raise my MMR if...

TheRakkun··2 votes·1,205 views

Everytime I lose I just undo two games worth of progress and take a step closer to bronze where there's NO chance that i'm getting out, I can't take the once step forwards one step back pattern that the game is putting me in, if I want to raise my MMR I have to win games, but If I end up falling into bronze I can't win games.

Help me, what do i do?

There really isn't any other way to put it other than... improve your play. The only reason you are in bronze is because you still have bronze or low silver skills. your MMR will go up eventually. Just keep focusing on improving your skills.

I'm not in bronze, I'm in silver but I'm worried to death I will fall into bronze, which I hear such bad things about, I try my best but everything feels messed up, I never feel like I have the right champs for my roles, I struggle to get new ones because I also need runes, everything feels so confusing.

just dont play anymore there is no point in playing ranked at all if u stuck then you are stuck.

Just keep trying. It took me an entire season of being silver before I was able to reach Gold in the next season and now I am Plat 3. You can do it too. Just keep at it.

Look up who the big metagame heroes are these days. I use the following if you wanna get yourself an idea. *Top lane Nasus Yorick Sion

Mid Lane Akali Kat lebonker Lissandra

ADC Tristana Lucian Cait

Support Nami Fucking Leona Karma Annie Mother Fucking Alistar

Jungle Win Zhao Pantheon Sejuani Evelynn

You don't really NEED specific rune pages to do well. Its more than possible to get to Challenger with 2 pages. If you're lacking IP, take advantage of URF for the next three days. Its not only quick, its a rather fun way to get the IP you need. You could also look up a guide or two if you need some extra help. Solomid.net and even Lolking have some pretty decent guides. Forewarned, Solomid isn't that prominent as it used to be and a ton of the guides are out of date, and Lolking is pretty haphazard with who makes the guides. Take everything with a grain of salt. Also, play normal draft if you wanna practice. Nobody likes it when you're trying new heroes for the first time in ranked. I'd personally recommend AVOIDING ranked all together unless you got at least a loose grip on how to play every role.

bronze it isn't something to fear its something that should be celebrated.

edit: further more the lower you mmr the worse everyone else in your game is the easier it is to carry, low mmr good low LP not so much

Thing is I don't know where i'm failing because of inherent lack of knowledge on my part, how do I get better at something when I don't know what that something is?

Watch this video. It focuses primarily on Orianna mid vs Zed BUT the core concepts discussed are crucial for any lane or game play in general.

What i did ( keep in mind I've only over peeked to silver 1 so im still shit )

I looked at things that are mandatory to know/do.

  • 100 CS by 15 ( this is super important )
  • where to wards relevant to you lane
  • how to properly gank
  • how to freeze a lane
  • how to farm under tower
  • how to use active items ( you wouldn't believe how many people still forget to use them across all ranks )
  • how to counter pick ( within your champion pool DO NOT COUNTER IF YOU CANNOT PLAY THE COUNTER )
  • how to use Teleport as a top laner
  • Understanding team comp ( what your team lacks/needs, what their team lacks and what you can abuse)

I can do roughly all of these and so should anyone looking to climb over bronze consistently Working on Cs is the hardest one because many things can effect your Csing that's why if you really want to climb learn to freeze a lane and farm under tower. one of the biggest factors on your impact in a game is your ability to cs to get items for the mid game. To be quite honest this is what matters the most in solo Q. your personal impact mid game can influence a lot of things.

work on basics to stomp mid game

this dude sounds like an arrogant jackass but he's literally saying the truth.

(about to sound exactly like him)

i have a bronze only account. that i play around so i can relieve some stress once in a while. i get 10-15 IP per win and lose about 10-20 per lost.

However, i have to try really really really hard to not get promoted so i can stay in bronze. i get winstreaks up to series and than i just lose series so i can stay in bronze. meaining, every time i go to series, i lose on purpose so i can stay in bronze.

so, if your in bronze, and you cant climb even if your losing more IP than gaining, it means you should be in bronze. even gold level players are able to get 3-4 winstreaks in bronze.

also, just cuz you're looking for "meta champions" doesnt mean you're going to win ....

Try to give some "honor to your teammates after every ranked game if ther deserve it, don't flame it, and try to make 3 eins in a row constanly in this way you mmr up and every time you have better teammates with positive actitude, be positive and your teammates will be too :D

Get to where you can carry. I know that sounds bad but its the truth. You will never climb as support at this elo because you cannot carry and your team will not use you to your full tactical advantage. I mean think about it. Climbing means you are doing better than your peers at your division. Which means you should be carrying aka doing better than your peers in your game. So again you have to learn to carry to be promoted because that is the definition of climbing.
