Let's talk about "the Poppy effect" for a moment
The
effect is my term for a champion who has the potential to be stronger an every other champion in the game if they had numbers to back them up.
If I told a new player that Poppy had mixed damage while only building AD, a knockback with possible stun, free armor, gets tankier at low health, and can ignore damage from every member of the team except one, she would sound broken, right? But she isn't because her numbers don't back up this incredible kit. Just buff everything about her a tiny bit, and she wins every time agianst every one.
is also under this effect, after receiving many, many nerfs which pushed him down from unbeatable. Look at his kit: two passive that provide both sustain and massive gold efficiency for crit items, allowing him to get 100% crit from 2-3 items and runes. His Q can crit, making his double crit even stronger, and has a lower cooldown if he builds AS. It also has a relatively EZ land CC. His W cancels all enemy projectiles that hit it, making him a hard counter to both enemy carries. His E is a 0.1 sec CD dash that helps him build his shield. His Ult is a 2 second knock up suspend which not only does massive damage but also lets him ignore enemy armor, and is a blink with massive range that refreshes his shield. He doesn't rely on mana, either, giving him massive lane presence with just a little bit of LS, since his Q procs it.
Sounds broken, right? But his numbers don't back it up. He is very squishy thought that e whole game, especially early becuase he has the lowest base HP in game. Just give him some numbers back and he is beyond OP.
I could defiantly see
undergoing the Poppy effect, with so many people on these forums complaining about him. We'll have to wait and see.
Can you commenters think of others in this category: their kits are theoretically God kits, but actual numbers keep them under played?
