With the new Runes even Janna and Soraka are better off building damage.

On champion GG both of maximising their damage output with going Sorcery -> Inspiration.Damage has become apsurd I don't mind having damaging options, but I do find it weird the 2 supports who could utilize ˝Revitalize˝ from the resolve tree, which increases H&S power and it further increased when the target is low on health.Instead Soraka's highest winrate skill order is maxing Q and Janna's is W.

I like healers and I know it's preseason and everything will turn out fine (well mostly fine) in the end,but I still find it surprising.

What?

Going Sorcery and Inspiration doesn't mean that they are building damage.

Also, Revitalize is not particularily powerful - yes, the rune is nice to have on a healing/shielding support, but so are Cosmic Insight (5% CdR to everything) and Magical Footwear (+10 MS and free boots is very good on Janna). Or Zombie Ward and Relentless Hunter.

MB. Was in a hurry and left out the part where Soraka's highest winrate comes with maxing Q(building RoA) ,while Janna's is with her W(going Rabadons,Void,Liadras ,lich bane and sorcery shoes). Like people on the boards agree that damage is too high, yet suddenly everyone is better of building damage XD Revitalize seems like it should be something you want to take on a support that has 2 healing and/or shielding abilities.

Actually, I'd argue that revitalize is for tanky sustain champs. Such as Warwick, Nautilus, or Taric to name a few.

I can see why Taric would cone to mind ( heal and shield) ,but way Naut and WW?

It affects self-targeted healing/shielding as well.

Ik,but I was referring to the fact that a champion with 1 AoE heal and double shield should be more efficient and prioritizing Revitalize than a champion with just 1 heal/shield?

There's absolutely nothing wrong with this. It's much more fun to play against Soraka's or Janna's that engage in trading than the metas where they can just sit behind their adc and shield/heal without having to interact at all.

Now there are many more windows for opportunity to fight them and they require better thinking and positioning than before.

Edit: And like ProfDrDeath said, it doesnt mean that they're building damage just from the maxing order. And if they did it's just another choice. AP also increases healing and shielding.

Janna's highest winrate build (champ.gg) has Eye of the Watchers,Rabadons,Void Staff,Liandras,Sorcerer shoes and Ludens Echo.

The problem isn't them building damage on it's own,but the damage output in the game is at it's highest its ever been.

Even before the preseason people showed concern for the damage output. How about now?

People that smurf generally are the ones building damage like that, and the increased win rate comes from them being smurfs, not necessarily from the build. That's why these statistics are not that relevant.

So literally every enchanter is going damage now, not solely Sona, but even Janna and Soraka too. Whelp, #BetterNerfSona anyways, amirite? That'll teach Soraka and Janna a thing or two! That'll knock them down a peg!

After all, nerfing Sona fixes **ALL **problems, especially those that turn out to be completely unrelated to her.

I saw a Sona with a Duskblade one game. Support Sona.

Idk, that sounds more viable than Deathcap Sona. Have you seen how ass her AP scalings are? At least AD stats are purely stand-alone since **ALL **basic attacks naturally scale 100% with AD items.

Those tree options are perfectly normal. I dont get the belly aching.

Even in this scenario where they are somehow building full damage, theyd have to be spending way more money on these items than support items and delaying their power as a result. Theyd also be giving up heavily on healing and shielding power in the process.

Tgis seems more lile a preseason thing than a balance issue.

I kinda find myself getting to full build as a support with enough spare gold to buy 2 rabadons sometimes.

It's not as muvh healing and shielding as you might think it is.How are they delaying power if they're just building AP?
