What if base stats were static all game
Meaning your base stats do not increase with level, only your abilities.
I was playing a game where I took the wrong runes on accident and I was thinking to myself "How did I get so behind? How am I suppose to come back from this?" Traditionally In league, you dont. You just lose.
This is because of a number of things.
- The Enemy has more gold than you
- The Enemy has more skill than you
- The enemy has more exp than you
- The enemy has more teamwork than you ect.
It has been known to be called "Snowballing" because all of these variables put together, literally snowballs the player out of control. And Yes, It's really fun to snowball out of control and kill everyone on the enemy team and get that pentakill, but it sure as hell isn't fun to play against. And maybe It's just me, but It gets pretty tiring after all these years of league.
My proposal is this: Remove character level from the equation. Remove stat increases based on level and revolve the game around 1 variable. Gold. Killing champions grants gold, so a player is already going to be ahead in gold by getting kills, they don't also need an exp boost to buff their stats even further.
