Turn Immolate into a Keystone

Mordius··15 votes·759 views

Immolate is such a great effect but It's rarely used because it is locked behind the armor stat. When looking to build armor, Omen and Thornmail are simply better options. Would love to be able to use the effect on both AD and AP champion that synergize well with it for extra AOE damage. Makes for a great keystone for tanks.

This actually makes sense.

Honestly they should just add one more keystone to each tree. They’ve had some great scrapped ideas that could totally be real keystones if they dropped the “only 3 keystones” thing.

No, they are doing more Keystones too. Precision is getting it's 4th keystone on patch 8.6.

It's a temporary inclusion for testing on the PBE. It will most likely be the replacement for PTA if they decide it's healthy.

The two keystones are far too similar to not assume this is their plan.

No, they've said their plan is to add fourth Keystones if they can. And Press the Attack has different uses than Conqueror.

Well we can hope this is the case. The more the better (to a point).

Problem with Immolate as a Keystone is that it's not interactive enough, it doesn't offer enough gameplay, according to the designers.

Kind of a forced Runes for Tank champions if they want faster clearing, especially if we were to assume Riot's going to remove Cinderhulk & Sunfire. And that's not good.

By Immolate do you mean the Sunfire effect?

sunfire and cinderhulk.

They would obviously remove the items, and leave an opening for a new jungle item

Ah okay then, understood. Thank you for clarifying!

Isn't it supposed to be good for pushing/AoE damage, compared to providing extra tankiness of other armor items? Seems pretty fair imo.

Most champions are capable of clearing waves just fine. Its for team fighting. Alone the damage isnt that great, but when applied to all 5 enemy champs it is a viable option as a keystone. As is, no one builds armor for aoe damage. And if you want damage you build a damage item. It doesnt fit with the current scope of the game anymore, like how abyssal scepter became abyssal mask. Except it wouldnt make sense to turn sunfire cape into a weapon. Make it a keystone

There are also a lot of tanks/bruisers who lack natural waveclear in their kits. Bruisers generally go for Tiamat over Sunfire Cape, but a lot of tanks benefit from extra pushing power from sunfire cape, because this also means they can save mana for teamfights. Iceborn Gauntlet is another armor item that does extra damage. It's not so much that people are building armor to do damage, but rather that if they need armor anyway, they can choose between being more tanky and doing more damage.

I mean, they do have to gate the Keystone somehow though. Almost all Keystones are entirely pvp focused, or PVP with a side of PVE scaling it (Dark Harvest).

The only Keystone that doesn't directly scream PVP is Unsealed Spellbook.

Fleet Footwork works without champion interaction, too.

Maybe add Immolate to Iron Skin, making it actually interesting over Conditioning
