For year marksmen was the only class with dedicated role and now it's finnaly open to other role. They are still the most played class in that role. Do you think bruiser top, mage mid play the same way agains't a adc when they show up in their lane instead of a conventional class? ADC player need to adapt.
Personally I think it’s a great thing that bottom lane is so diverse now. People can still play marksmen, but like junglers last patch, they need to adapt.
Marksmen are bad, and even the best adcs like Ezreal or Kai'Sa are way worse than the Ezreal and Kai'Sa from pre 8.11 due for the stat nerfs + the hotfix nerf that both received.
The only ones that are not weaker imo are Lucian/MF/Draven because the stat nerfs didn't hurt them that much since they are still strong early game and their builds were not gutted.
Mages/Bruisers are viable botlane exactly because marksman are bad since the Mages/Bruisers were not touched.
100% agreed. I think it's healthy of marksmen show up in say, 50-80% of botlane picks, but botlane always being markman vs. marksman is not what I'd prefer to see. Yes, just like mages in mid, etc, some variety is good.
Problem is that more people fighting for botlane means that adcs have less options.
Where will they go? Mid? Get one shot by assassins and burst mages or outpushed Top? They will get dove on and killed Jungle? Even the adc specifically created for jungle is barely viable in it (Kindred) Support? If they are one of the rare adcs with spammable CC, maybe can work
This isn't to say they didn't need a nerf, this is not saying that ALL adcs are trash.
What I'm saying is that plenty of adcs can't even do well in the lane they are meant to go.
