turning 400 armour to 100 armour isnt balanced and makes item efficiency for tanks fucking horrible

and what does armor do to AD item efficiency, especially since armor items tend to be cheaper?

Also even with all that, neither assassins or lethality ADCs are effective tank killers because they still have to chew through 3000-4000 HP because tanks only have to counterbuild 1 thing, while AD champions have to counterbuild both armor and health.

armor comes with a trade-off of not doing anything for enemy magic damage, and if you stack armor then you would usually be easy to kill by a mage, especially DPS ones like Cass.

now it's more like you'll briefly be impossible for ADs to kill until they get their pen, and then you'll just be a big health pool who gets to blow one rotation of spells before they're eaten up

and building raw AD/arpen without aspd/crit comes with a trade off of not being able to quickly cut through a large health pool while stuff is on CD. Even MF who gets a nice ASPD steroid basically tickles tanks without her ult.

1: Tanks until this patch got a lot of damage, especially midgame. 2: Lethality items don't give crit or attack speed. At most you could work Blade of the Ruined King into your build. Lethality items only give out of combat MS. I'll give you CDR and damage though, but to shred through high HP pools you need BORK or a crit build, Lethality builds do not give you that. If you're building item 3142 item 3147 item 3814 item 3036 item 3158 item 3026 then that's no attack speed, no crit, and you only get MS in combat. Not to mention Varus has to swap out one of those items for a Tear, and MF has to swap out for BC.

Shy didn't say tanks were effective squishy killers, and they're not. It's a team game. Tanks and the like use CC in order to help their team, not just in order to 1v1 kill someone. You can use Elastic Slingshot to knock Jhin out of his ultimate. You can use Impale to drag that fed Riven away from your carries. You can use Bandage Toss into Curse of the Sad Mummy to lock down the entire enemy team while your own divers go and murder their squishies.

I mean... would you say building AD isn't unfair because it leaves you so squishy you can get bursted? It's a separate issue. (Not that I think building AD is unfair. I have no comment there. Just saying that I don't think your argument was very clear.)

Lethality items, runes, and masteries combined with armor penetration of BC/Last Whisper can reduce a champion's armor by more than 85%.

there are still tank mains in 2k17?

i mean, all my games don't have one so i wonder

Arguable it isn't "some". Rather it's "most".

Maybe they'll give tank items something to WoW's active mitigation idea for tanks, where you use a tank item's active to lower damage taken; rather then be just an armor stick.
