Botlane has too much power now, but most of the power coming from the ADC is at that 2 1/2 to 3 item spike. Until then, ADCs still have no agency in terms of lane phase or even early skirmishes. It's all the support. A good support can get a bad ADC to the point where they hit their 3 item spike and can win the teamfight off having that spike first (itself a problem). A good ADC with a bad support pretty much cannot lane unless they're a mega lane bully going against a weak early game ADC. Furthermore, the classes that are able to counter ADCs are still able to do so...in a vacuum. Even a fed ADC loses to most bruisers/assassins unless they play perfectly AND the melee fucks up. But the support has so much peel and CC and shielding that it totally takes away that weakness. Even if you halved ADC damage, the melee still loses because they did 0 damage regardless.

The problem is that for years, supports were wardbitches who were glorified minions and we all felt sorry for the downtrodden support mains. But we're a long way from that now, but we're still acting like botlane being too powerful is the fault of the ADC, rather than supports being overbuffed on every level.

Or, when bot is being perpetually four-manned because your jungle keeps getting caught trying to invade, your top is losing ground rather than applying pressure, and your mid is just feeding and whining about OP lane opponents, the side with the best support loses in 35 minutes rather than 15.

It goes both ways. The better ADC can win games, or the better support.

If the ADC is really good, some supports just have to do a basic job (Blitz Q, Janna E, etc.) and their skill isn't a factor.

However, some supports can actually carry a monkey adc and make them look like a god (the blitzcranks that know how to position to zone the enemy, while putting them in a position for a hook/the Janna that trades aggressively and knows to position back)

It's all a matter of execution, but all in all, bot lane is the central lane.

the better irony is how much boards hated how snowbally botlane is but glorified mages and tanks as supports, who enforced the snowball down there

but better keep on blaming only adcs because its clearly just their fault ;-)

I main support and I have never felt as potato as I do atm. The relic shield meta is incredibly boring due to the lack of ability to capitalize on people's mistakes. Everyone just heals up the damage taken. We can't kill each other without the jungler because relic shield makes the adcs slightly tankier and does not give AD. I've essentially been turned into a healbot with nothing else to do during laning.

I would have agreed with your statement in other metas, but in this one, I don't feel like I have as much of an impact. It really just feels like whoever happens to pick Vayne.

To a degree. An ADC that cannot farm, doesn't have map awareness, and doesn't capitalize on your plays will be a burden and any competent enemy lane can capitalize on these things regardless of how good of a Support you are.

An ADC that can't farm will not reach their powerspikes before the opposing lane. An ADC that has no map awareness will ignore the fact that they can see the enemy mid and jungler heading towards them until they're killed. An ADC that doesn't capitalize on plays like an Alistar going in for that double knock-up and following stun leaves the Support out to dry and take damage for nothing.

Supports can keep a competent ADC quite well off and when they synergize with a good ADC they can be dominating- but a bad ADC nullifies practically any advantage of being a good support unless you're Janna or Soraka.

as a top riven main, i agree with this. I can go for a flash in play and try to 100-0 the adc, and it wont happen if they have a support anywhere near them unless the support is bad

I couldn't agree more. How about you Support mains stop playing Support for this season. Only when you're gone will they begin to realize how invaluable you are. As a WW JG Main, I'll help you teach these mean ADC mains how important you guys are.

I've been saying this for months now, Support is 100% overtuned and the reason adcs are adcs right now. Their items are so cheap and so freaking strong that other lanes are using them right now.
