A 'healthy' Veigar rework idea.
I'll be fast: I think Veigar's "compensation" was done by someone at the balance team in about 3 minutes, and I said "I can think about a better rework in a couple of hours". I did it in 5 minutes. I hope you enjoy it.
Innate — Equilibrium: Passive: Veigar permanently gains 1 AP every time he kills an enemy unit. This bonus is doubled against large minions, large monsters and champions.
- Old passive removed.
Q — Baleful strike: Active: Veigar unleashes a ball of dark energy in a line, dealing 80/115/150/185/220 +0.6 AP magic damage to all enemies hit. Range: 850 | Cost: 40/45/50/55/60 mana | Cooldown: 8/7/6/5/4
- No longer grants bonus AP.
- Now passes through all units.
- Base magic damage reduced to 80/115/150/185/220 from 80/125/170/215/260.
- Mana cost reduced to 40/45/50/55/60 from 60/65/70/75/80.
- Cooldown changed to 8/7/6/5/4 from 7/6.5/6/5.5/5.
W — Dark matter: Active: Veigar calls a great mass of dark matter to fall from the sky to target location, which lands after a 1.25 second delay, dealing 100/150/200/250/300 +1.0 AP magic damage in a 167.5-radius area. Range: 750 | Cost: 100 mana | Cooldown: 15/14/13/12/10
- Base magic damage reduced to 100/150/200/250/300 from 120/170/220/270/320.
- Damage radius increased to 167.5 from 112.5.
- Mana cost increased to 100 at all ranks from 80/85/90/95/100.
- Cooldown reduced to 15/14/13/12/10 from 18/17/16/15/14.
E — Event horizon: Active: Veigar twists the edges of space around 375-radius target area for 3 seconds, slowing all enemies inside by 10/12.5/15/17.5/20%. Enemies who pass through the perimeter are also silenced for 2/2.5/3/3.5/4 seconds. Range: 450/500/550/600/650 | Cost: 100 mana | Cooldown: 25/22/19/16/13
- Delay removed.
- Now slows all enemies inside by 10/12.5/15/17.5/20%.
- Enemies who pass through the perimeter are no longer stunned, but they are silenced for 2/2.5/3/3.5/4 seconds increased.
- Range reduced to 450/500/550/600/650 from 700 at all ranks.
- Mana cost increased to 100 at all ranks from 80/85/90/95/100.
- Cooldown changed to 25/22/19/16/13 from 18/17/16/15/14.
** R — Primordial burst:** Active: Blasts target enemy champion, dealing 250/375/500 +1 AP plus 80% of target's AP. The blast then strikes enemies nearby from the target (think about it as a basic attack with Tiamat/Hydra), dealing half damage to them (125/187.5/250 +0.5 AP plus 40% of original target's AP). Range: 650 | Cost: 100/150/200 mana | Cooldown: 120/100/80.
- Now it's an AP Hydra. It's cool.
- Mana cost changed to 100/150/200 from 125 at all ranks. (I like ye olde scaling costs from the past).
tl;dr: NO STUN, a powerful silence instead. AND R IS A COOL AP HYDRA.
