Queue Times are becoming outrageous

We know why this is; because support is by far the most unpopular role and no one wants to play it. I'd be very curious the statistics for how many people queue as support and/or fill relative to each of the other 4 roles.

I'm in a 10 minute queue right now because I picked jungle/mid. No one wants to sit through 10-15 minute queue time when the actual game may only last 20-30 minutes. Let's spend a third of our time sitting in a fucking queue, YEAH! kappa

Riot you better address the support role because it's seriously infecting the health of your game. By this I mean outrageously long queue times. People are already finding the new season unfun; drastically increased queue times will only exacerbate this problem and cause people to leave and play different games....again exacerbating the already problematic queue times and we see a vicious cycle begin. The old system I had on average a 1:30-3:00 minute queue. No data but yeah usually you'd get in a game, maybe about 1 min peak times, maybe 3 mins off hours. As I reread and edit my post, I finally got in a game after a 14:00 queue; oh and someone dodged the first lobby...so that's more of a 15-17 minute queue. For a fucking gold 1 ranked game. I thought this was a challenger problem, can't imagine their queue times these days.

Dynamic queue has some nice aspects; you can get a guaranteed 1/2 roles. Toxicity is somewhat stifled as there is less dispute over unwanted roles. However, I'd take the old queue any day. I don't care if i occasionally get support (more like idc if I get top/adc, because I actually like support) if i'm getting 2-3 minute queues. I'd rather take the randomness of the old queue accompanied by shorter queue times than the 15 minute queue of being guaranteed jungle or mid. I don't really care what I get, but I can only pick fill for so many games before I get tired of supporting.

The trade off for being guaranteed 1 of 2 roles is not worth it when you have to wait 10+ minutes for a game.

Queue took 16 minutes. GG. At least it gave me enough time to post this

EDIT: nvm, my second lobby was also dodged. Queue is up to 18 minutes.

Kay, third lobby after 20 minute queue time in addition to the ~3 minutes wasted in each lobby before game was dodged. About to log off for the day if I can't get in a game after 30 minutes. This is my point; people don't wanna sit through this shit. Your population will decrease.

It should be 10x faster once we have a real solo queue.

nah, then both queues will face even longer queue times. why do you think they haven't implemented actual solo Q?

imo it's because doing so would be hurting to their preferred Q, dynamic, in addition to the overall game as then every player regardless of Q will face even longer times. The solos will go all solo and they might be best off I think, but then groups will be lacking fillers. and for whatever reason atm Riot prefers the group Dynamic Q. Even the new key/chest system promotes group play; you are more likely to get free shit if you group up.

Lots of premades are of 3 or 4. Where will they get that 4th and 5th player from if real solo Q exists? they wont.

Which is why imo the old system is better. Single or duo, or FIVE. not 4. 3 might be acceptable but not 4. there are plenty of posts about toxic 4 mans. And 4 man require solo players. It's just not compatible if a solo-player-only Q existed

Stuff like this is supposed to sort itself out. People will slowly get tired of the long queue times and pick up support in order to get into game faster. Eventually support will stop being the most unpopular role, and another one will take its place.

That's how it's supposed to work at least. I don't know about you but I never have long queue times with my secondary role of fill. Maybe you just need to learn more roles?

or they will stop playing altogether because they don't find support fun, thus queue times continue to increase. Or perhaps the queue times would actually decrease if a lot of players quit ? since the # of quitters will be majority non-supports relative to supports, following this line of reasoning.

idk it's all theory and guesswork until something actually happens but i do know queue times are long as hell, and my totally unscientific observations have been that queue times are following a trend of getting longer as the season progresses, and this is espeically true of norm games. and i know it's because no one wants support. 20 minute queue just now, instant if i press support/fill. Obviously there is a role that isn't being adequately populated. It's not a huge deal, but the fallout is longer queue times which imo most likely results in people playing another game, rather than playing the dreaded support role.

also i can play each of the 5 roles at minimum plat 5 level. I just get tired of playing support every game when I pick fill. I will support for 4 or 5 games, but then i get over it because it's not my main role. Anything not my main-role gets old after a few games
