I would rather have his tenacity back, tbh.
He needs skill elements in his kit, W timing gonna be pretty important again, I like the change
I hope it's true, garen has been fairly unplayable since his update. Heres how you beat garen: trade and kite, you win.
After months of poor buffs and big nerfs finally a great champ gets a deserved buff... I hope its only the beginning.
I don't know about viable, but they're definitely good changes.
Doesnt seem game changing but from when we played you were a godlike garen as is lol
garen feels very strong as a pseudo-assassin on PBE
i think these changes helped a lot with that, lower cooldown on passive late game + much stronger but shorter W makes him really hard to kill while he's tearing shit up
im wary of these changes. they look good on paper, but they also look mostly like tradeoffs.
his passive having increased regeneration below 20% health sounds good. but if youre that low, youre usually not sticking around for 9 seconds to get dived on by your lane opponent or ganked by the enemy jungler this early on in the game. so i dont know how useful thats going to be.
his passive activation time at lvl 16 reduced to 3 seconds sounds great aswell. but again, he has no reliable way to disengage combat once he commited. how useful is that actually going to turn out if he already cant make much use of the mechanic?
if i want more out of combat sustain at that phase of the game, i could just buy warmogs. id gladly sacrifice all that lvl 16 regeneration and stick with the 4% out of combat regen at lvl 11 if the passive was situationally available in combat in return.
his w has larger damage reduction in clutch situations, but is weaker in extended fights against opponents with lifesteal or other forms of sustain. these are the fights where he already struggles.
it comes down to how he performs in extended fights against enemies with sustain. thats one of his greatest issues imo. he gets drain tanked far too often. or the enemy gets healed and shileded and he cant take him down in one rotation. then garen gets shit on in the 5 second window (at 40% cdr) his abilites are on cooldown while you can just stand around and auto attack.
overall, these are clearly buffs. but again, just like with the armor shred buff, they dont look like theyre fixing any of his issues. theyre more like small band aids.
Meh, his passive should be some kind of in combat sustain that actually promotes interactive gameplay. W is decent though.
it looks too good to be true
: Darius, Eat your heart out.
None of these changes make his laning not garbage and so he'll still be bad.
If you buff Garen you gotta buff Darius.
It's only fair.
oh look another braindead champion is getting buffed so now we have darius/zac next patch we would have garen too..
No wonder why this game lose more and more players....because riot allow 0 mechanical champions to be strong for no reason
Oh great buffing one of the most braindead champs in the game, lets nerf lethality some more tho xd riot balance team
A binary champ... buffed... i don't like it.
you also have to remember that the average skill level on the pbe is pretty terrible.
so while these changes may feel good there, im not sure that they still hold up in a live environment against slightly more coordinated teams when your target like a marksman gets constantly healed and shielded by supports, drain tanks you with lifesteal + warlords, and has
in his inventory.
taking down an enemy carry in a single spin rotation is not very feasable anymore. and if you cant, youre going to lose the fight since you simply cant sustain through it like your opponent does.
same for disengaing fights to make use of the reduced passive timer. its already impossible to do most of the time once you already commited to a fight.
