I honestly don't even blame losses on bad players anymore...

I blame Riot because it's their fault that:

  1. The worst player decides the game, not the best player.
  2. This player is even on my team. I'll gladly wait an extra 5 minutes in queue if it means I'll get 5 Gold vs. 5 Gold instead of 5 Gold vs. 4 Gold and a Bronze because point 1.
  3. Auto-fill exists. I'll gladly wait another 5 minutes in queue if it means everyone on my team gets a role they're somewhat competent enough at to play. Again, refer to point 1.

Yes that's what he said. What's the point of making a post to repeat it?

Oh cool. I didnt know its on your control whether your team gets caught or not. Cool. I mean sure you might be part of why you lost in a game, but still you cant control the actions of your teammates.

"I BLAME RIOT THAT I LOST THE GAME"

I’d never imagine this timeline ever.

OP, consider you lost the game because you’re the bad player?

Child of the Pit5 votes

Then his points still stand, because he is that one worse player in the team

Eye Of Terror7 votes

Doesn't take much IQ (perhaps, even a negative one is enough) to make such comment.

What OP claims is actually real: nowadays it's way easier to fuck up a game and way harder to carry a game.

Also, autofill is the worst idea ever. It should be removed. Makes matches even more unfair. Most autofill matches I had were one sided and it can't be simple 'coincidence'.

At this point just give me back my "You are first pick, pick what you want" and "You are last pick, you are probably support". At least you got into games and everyone was on equal footing on both teams.

Nothing sucks like losing a game and then getting to play a role you KNOW you are bad at. Equally it sucks when you are on a win streak then get slapped into support and know you just gotta grind through a game you really don't want to play till you get to enjoy it again.

I agree 1 player shouldnt lose the game... About as much as i agree 1 player shouldnt be able to win a game... solo.

A player should be able to be a rally point and help get carries caught back up, and keep people alive.

But a single player SHOULDNT be able to pick Riven/Fiora/Jax and just annihilate 1v5 which i feel like a lot of people are asking for. No matter how good you are you at least need help.

I feel like the game was sitting in a bit of a sweet-spot about 7/8 months ago in terms of team play vs. individual play.

Well if the snowball wasn't retarded as hell it wouldn't be 1 kill, it would be like 10 kills to get you reaaaally rolling. All in all the game is in a sorry state atm.

You're asking for the impossible at low elo. It's very uncommon for someone in low elo to understand that they should be following the carry tp help them in fights instead of split pushing to farm.

In terms of champions that can do this... So you want a support... that can carry... I'm sorry but supports and carries are on completely opposite ends of the spectrum.

Well, it just depends on how fed that Riven/Fiora/Jax is. I think he deserves to annihilate 1v5 if he was fed 15-20 kills in mid-game. I think it rather shouldn't be simple to do it, but still possible if you are way better than the enemy team.

this is a really silly idea.

"one player should not be able to stomp 1v5"

in any video game you are given tools to play the game, if one player knows how to use those tools in a much more efficient way then they should be able to crush people. why cap the impact a player is allowed to have? this only leads to more reliance on your team mates which more times then not will turn out bad for you, not to mention the dulling of your enjoyment in any given game.

imagine any shooter game= if i shoot you 10 times, then my life will drop when you look at me because then the fight will be fair. or if you are losing you regenerate ammo and equipment like nades and flash bangs.

all these systems in place to get people caught up in game are a fucking joke. if you run around the map doing nothing and im sitting in lane farming then i should be 5 levels above you, why are we even debateing this?

Correct me if im wrong but the number of shooters that claim "True teamplay experience" have matches that are significantly shorter, typically in sets of rounds (which you could call "Catch up systems" Since "I shot them i should win") And dont take place over 40 fuckin minutes.

That and MOST shooters barely claim that at all, they just market "Run around and shoot shit and hope you win" Still 100% random on teammates whether you win or lose, but most of the time KDA is what matters in those games.

So shooter-boy If you want to be able to run around and just 1v9 in games, why dont you go PLAY CoD hmmm? Cause any team based game CLEARLY isnt for you.

SheP Boi R Dee1 votes

i was simply drawing a comparison to highlight the foolish concept of catch up exp, not implying i think shooters are better. you calling me a "shooter-boy" is just simply immature and adds nothing to the conversation, you are just trying to straw man my argument into a moba vs shooter thing which it clearly was not intended to be.

while yes, shooter games are shorter in length. this does not have anything to do with the systems in place within game that are faulty are support a more boring experience by trying to dull your impact or negate your skill level.

yes shooter games reset in forms of rounds but the inherit quality's of your character stay the same and your skill level is allowed to shine through your play style. in a moba on the other hand your ability to out level your opponent by denieing freezing and punishing is an expression of skill which is hindered by the systems in place.

catch up exp is the same thing as if they where to remove damage from your character if your too far ahead in levels, or if gold value of cs dropped depending upon how far ahead you are in cs. its completely foolish and limiting of expression through skill.

(this is basically the same argument i posted, but maybe in a context you can actually understand and not get butthurt over.)

ISLAMICWARRIOR9913 votes

Autofill is trash, matchmaking is trash, and they made the game too team oriented. They need to make solo carrying easier because right now 1 player can lose a game easily but for 1 player to win it is hard af. Honestly if they just reverted to s5/s6 and then nerfed tanks to prevent another cancer tank meta game would be 100000000000000000000000000000000000000x better. But they're too busy adding in stupid ass champs that are either useless or busted and making class updates two of which, assasain and tank, were fucking gutter trash.

TeCoolMage10 votes

I'm somehow both unsurprised and amazed you chose to blame riot instead of, idk, your own play.

people only get autofill 10% of the time.

Wild Herbivore16 votes

Riot has created this environment. Who else would you blame?

"your own play" has not a lot to do with it anymore. THAT is quite widely realised by the community by now.

"People only get get autofill 10% of the time"... 10% of the time...times ten players.... chances are, 1 person per match will be autofilled. That might not be a problem for some, myself included since I can play all roles well, BUT it is IMPOSSIBLE to deny that it does not create a toxic environment where 1 team will most likely be SCREWED by the autofill under-performing.

It's as if it's a "coin-flip" or something like that...

Disembark3 votes

“Widely realized by the community” doesn’t mean shit.

People have been bitching about their team mates and the meta since season 0. Not a single fucking week has gone by in the history of this game where someone doesn’t blame Riot/The meta etc etc for their losses.

Guess what, people bitch about the exact same things in Overwatch/Dota communities too.

VICHEL CHAOS8 votes

Maybe one day you will blame yourself for your losses and then, only then, you might begin to get better at the game.

Marothennan7 votes

He can blame himself for his mistakes for sure. But for the entire game when he's only 1/5 of the team? That's delusional

VICHEL CHAOS7 votes

What can he do about his teammates' mistakes? He can blame everyone all he wants but it will not get him anywhere.

Now, people who belong to a higher mmr can climb even when half the time they get bad teammates, that is a big indicative that if he improves his own play he can carry the game. Hence, all he can do is focus on his own performance and mistakes and get better as a player and if he is better than the people who are around him he should be able to win more games. Blaming people other than himself is completely wasted effort, which could be put into optimizing own play and actually improving and then carrying the bad teammates with his superior knowledge or mechanics.

People higher on the Ladder know how to create situations helping the one good player on their team. They peel, They CC, They stay in formation, They pretty much try their best to get this one guy ahead so they all can just win. Mostly the only reason why people get carried alot, cause they let it happend. Even the worst of players can Carry if they're ahead enough.. Now.. Bronze.. Do you think people admit they lost lane? Do you think people rotate to help out? Do you think peel is a thing down here? Nope, And that one guy who does do it all.. Gets dragged down harder because the other 3 people rather think they can 3v5. If you're the tank, it gets fucking hard. You don't know who to CC for and who to Keep alive as everyone just shoves themselves at the enemies like they can 1 shot whoever they see. Mostly why Low elo is better in Korea and Garena. They stay in formation and tanks know their place.

VICHEL CHAOS2 votes

Are you trying to argue that its harder to carry in bronze than in higher ladder? If you are bronze 1 level in bronze 5 it might be hard, but if you are high ladder level but somehow (horrible placements? smurf?) in bronze it is just stomp after stomp. Ridiculously easy. Even if your team feeds or get caught the opponents don't know how to end the game, push the lead or stop you if you know the game. If you are a tank build banner of command and zzrot portal and let them run in mayhem from lane to lane or lose towers for free. Or kill them with your tank base damages while they rage that you can't die. Bronze mechanics and game knowledge are simply horrendous and with half decent macro you can solo carry easily (the only mechanic you might need to stomp here is getting like 7 cs per minute and that's on the high side).

  1. Working as intended, riot did give power back to solo lanes, and they've always been able to carry bad players. You just need to be smart with map rotations.
  2. Getting a bronze in a gold elo game will never happen unless the bronze is being hella boosted.
  3. Auto fill exists because YOU should be competent at playing all roles at some basic level before entering ranked. I say this as an OTP who knows the basics of support and adc...

So no, this isn't Riot's fault. This is yours for not knowing how to play the game, and finding a catalyst to blame.

AlienPrimate5 votes

Do people ever consider that maybe it isn't bad players? Maybe it is just the enemy team has a good player who is stomping a less good player, thus that player on the enemy team is carrying.

OP Garen Support7 votes

When every other lane is 0 8 0. For 10 games straight. If it is always the enemy player is "good", then why is that always the enemy is good? You cant say that all my teammates are boosted. 100 % of the time.

Kairoptra2 votes

I won't act like it isn't partially Riot's fault, but don't even begin to act like it's not also any of your or any of your teammates' fault for losing. It's not necessarily a case of one or the other. I'm not denying any of your three points, but the fact remains that bad plays are made and that works to your detriment. That's how a game works. Perhaps the game has gone too far in that direction because of Riot, but the fact remains that there comes a point where you cannot blame Riot for everything.

DarkSoul19943 votes

I'm actually pretty self-critical and will accept blame where blame is deserved. I wrote this post off the back of 3 normal games that were pretty damn winnable but my team mates were the typical pricks that think that every suggestion someone makes is a personal attack on them.

I'm really not saying you're bad, just that we have a really good pick comp and they have a really good team fight comp so maybe "just grouping mid" isn't the right strategy for this game. But, sure, keep calling me "shit" in spite of me being 10/1/5 and being the only person capable of picking off their fed Yi. Sure, I'm the one losing this game for us - not the Shen who must have confused LoL with a grey screen simulator.

Kairoptra6 votes

Then... doesn't contradict the entire point of the post? You said you blamed Riot, but the reason you were angry was because of toxic douchebags. You're sending me mixed signals, here.

DarkSoul19943 votes

They're not necessarily toxic though - they're just bad. A big issue is that a lot of people are so bad that they don't even understand how bad their decision-making is. And then they get mad at their teammates for not making the same bad decision.

I'll take someone with bad mechanics over someone who makes bad decisions and is too stubborn to follow good ones any day of the week.

Kairoptra2 votes

Again, where does Riot fit into this? You’re going on and on about how bad your teammates were, but your post said it’s Riot fault, not their’s.

CytheGuy4 votes

I believe that OP wants to say that Riot fits into this because they made these bad players matter to the game. Riot made it so that it is practically impossible to solo-carry when there are these players on your team, which is a terrible idea because there will always be bad players, therefore it will always be impossible to solo carry said bad players.

AR URF2 votes

I blame toxic teammates. Sitting there saying something stupid like "this ADC can't carry shit" is not going to make the ADC perform any better. Also I half blame the role doing bad and I blame the other half on the support. You know full well if you solo q bot than the enemy team might have voice chat.

Hahaha! Well, we all like to talk bad about RIOT. I do it too. And maybe not blaming your losses on bad players is a step in the right wrong? direction.

People often seem reluctant to blame their losses on good play from opponents, and it's because of ego. There's a mentality that you shouldn't admit weakness. If you admit your opponent played better it feels a little bit like saying you weren't good enough and the ego can't stand that.
