SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many issues and problems .... where to even begin.

#1 cannot get teammates around my elo ... there is no MMR number or specific information to go on to tell a players skill ... in return I ended up playing with the WORST 3 players I have ever played with. Our ADC was good everthing else was an atrocity. I felt like I was playing in bronze 5 ... these guys are gold level and literally have zero communication in chat. Absolutely no map awareness whatsoever. Let the enemy team do whatever they wanted. Live in my Jungle for 1000 years and not group up for fights we should have easily won.

If this is going to be competitive, we need to put an actual NUMBER to the skill of the players you are trying to group with. When half your team is MUCH weaker than you despite them having almost the same rank, well it makes for a polarizing team. I had absolutely no enjoyment playing I couldn't even get a succesful gank off and got blasted back into the bronze 5 Jungler age due to my team having zero response. I know its a TEAM issue but you cannot guarantee the teammates are near or equal to your skill level currently and that needs to change if this is going to be a competitive queue.

#2 BUGS BUGS AND MORE BUGS my lord was the bugs soo real in this event. My team couldn't even play game 1 and I am sure MANY MANY others were not able to as well. Hilariously someone a normal player in the discord figured out how to circumvent the issue. Riot could not even figure out what some random player did. For all their education and engineers or whoever was working on this Clash Beta they certainly had no clue.

#3 SMURFS GALORE ... you did not stop smurfing at all ... your SMS technique is a failure. game 2 for my team today was a massacre one guy basically solo carried the whole game was unkillable and made us FF @ 15 instantly absolutely no chance ... this dude was a monster ... this is in silver / gold elo btw too. Dude is like 10-0 11 mins in. Just doing whatever he pleased because he was clearly plat or maybe even higher .... knew his damage knew when he could invade knew when he could solo kill someone top tier ganks etc etc. I am sure others experienced this issue as well .... and there is literally no way Riot could deny any smurfing took place because it definitely happened.

#4 Prizes for losing .... the prizes for losing is not even worth playing for. Once you lose one game your better off just not playing for the entire weekend. Some BE / XP Boosts and a Logo aint worth squat .... for 1 ticket ... id rather keep the BE and not waste my damn time playing your GARBAGE mode.

#5 This mode will DIE ... 1000% it will whats going to happen is all of US losers who get nothing all the time will quit playing the mode ... then the winners who were winning will being losing because someone has to ... and then they will quit and it will trickle down the line until hardly anyone is playing the mode. This mode is a complete FAILURE and will be the biggest failure of the company this year guaranteed.

This mode was not worth getting excited over and is a horrible mode for MOST players only the best of the best will get anything and the rest of us will just waste our time hoping to get something that will never occour. You cannot even guarantee your playing with players near your skill level as even players in the same Tier ( GOLD / Plat ETC) can have wildly huge skillgap. Smurfing will run rampant despite Riot's policy and nothing will be done because Riot cannot possibly track every smurf that does this.

In the end the mode is a good idea on paper ... but thats it. The paper is worth more than the idea that's written on it. I will not even WASTE my time playing another one ... this was all the proof I needed to know wrapped up in one crapstorm of a beta. Please divert resources to somewhere it can actually be useful like fixing your disaster of a game.

  1. Uh. You organise your own team, so this is sortof on you. If you joined up with 4 randoms you've never played with before, in a competitive setting you should expect to lose, even if you did end up all being same skill (which is unlikely). The idea is you get a team together and actually spend a few weeks practicing together (e.g. in ranked flex) before you get to the tournament stage.

  2. Well it is beta, bugs are to be expected. We'll see how it turns out upon the full release.

  3. This is perhaps a valid concern. We'll see how hard they crack down on smurfs and how well their smurf detection is in the coming weeks. Certainly lots of stories of obvious smurfs floating around.

  4. This is just the initial beta tournament. Once things get settled and everything is ironed out more, they can look into if the rewards are appropriate. That said though, this is just for 5 man teams and not something realistically accessible by all players, so the rewards can't be that cool lest those who can't participate for whatever reason don't get too left out.

  5. Time will tell. Heard some rather positive stories from those who found the competitive experience totally different from regular ranked queues and found it quite exciting. If they can iron out the other issues theres still hope for it, but we'll see if they can.
