Sigh Pyke
In the right hands, I guess he's a good champion. But as a support main, he's about as functional as a third nipple. He has no real poke, but his toolkit seems all about engage. But he can't engage because it's too easy to zap him down. He's got poor 1v1 for an assassin imo. His utility is completely offset by the fact that pretty much every single ability can be dodged or undermined. His survivability overcompensates for his fairly poor damage output.
And the real kicker is the number of games where everyone who never plays support is now a support main. So it's like: congrats on playing the role no one ever wants for all the time, but now you get to compete with everyone wanting to play this mediocre champion that could only really be effective with high skilled players--and even then I'd still question just how potent he is.
I think the concept is cool. I love his mobility. I think his toolkit has potential. But right now? I feel like he is a cool-designed champion that was blocked by his own design to keep him from having any real scary potential. It's like facing a blitzcrank with stealth, except not, because the snare takes 2 seconds to wind up and removes your stealth, and the stun combo is virtually impossible to land. And GOD FORBID you actually play as a support and try to protect your ADC. Free double kills for days.
Will be interesting to see what high skilled players churn out for this guy. But in the mean time, I will just let the enemy team have him until everyone gets bored of their newfangled love of the support role and he gets put on the dusty shelf with most of the other new champs that have come out the last couple years.
