Has the game been feeling SLOWER to you?

I am aware that each patch brings new content and that my laptop could be much better at running the game but since this last update with the mage changes and such, the game has been feeling much heavier than before. Gameplay tends to go as smooth as before (though there are a few freezes sometimes) but the client itself has been very slow, the loading screen takes much longer to show up and to launch the actual game. I was able to do anything else before, keeping the client open and browsing the internet but it seems like I can't do that anymore because it lags the crap out of my laptop.

I was just wondering if this is normal since I'm running it on an older machine or if it's strange because it happened out of nowhere? I don't play as much as before so it doesn't entirely bother me but still, it's a bad sad because the few times I want to play the game feels slow and choppy and it turns me off from wanting to play more than one or two matches.
