Using Rumble's Q - Flamespitter, Kills You. It literally does.

I am here to talk about an issue related to Rumble and his Q - Flamespitter, Illustrate how I feel about this issue, and give a couple ideas about how to get rid of it, as this is an issue that made my laning phases as Rumble miserable and I doubt that I'm alone. Lets start with some basic understanding of Rumble . He's a lane bully. That is how he was made. The issue I will state in a minute severly handicaps his ability to lane bully. I had an experience of playing Rumble top when he was free, I don't remember who I was against, but that happens to be irrelevant. I thought I was playing a champion that could keep any champ away from the minion wave, by harassing with my Q. That's what I did, or so attempted to do. It ended up being much more like an attempt, as my enemy laner won with about 200 health at a lvl 2 fight. Looking at my death recap, I saw my problem. My lane opponent had stood near his minions, so when my Q hit him, His minions started attacking me in force. I was attempting to be a lane bully, what Rumble is meant to be able to do and I got demolished doing what Rumble does best. His Q aggrovates minions, and those minions do serious damage. I personally think that this shouldn't be, using Rumble 's Q and getting beat up as if it was a 10-0 Vi the same level as you is ridiculous. Rumble needs options to get around minion aggro to be the undisputed lane bully he is supposed to be, because being what he is supposed to be is killing him right now. The big issue here is that rumble is getting bullied for trying to lane bully. Rumble has to be changed to be able to cope with this issue and I'm gonna give some suggestions, being careful not to make Rumble oppressively OP.

-Make it so that when rumble uses his Q or W (he usually uses them at the same time) - he has increased armor or minion damage reduction -Add a unique passive onto his Q or W (they are usually used at the same time) that increases armor or minion damage reduction while the Q is on or off. -Increase rumble's base armor by a couple numbers. -Buff W's base shield value so that it blocks more damage, even if it returns to the same value at max level. -Make Doran's Shield passive work on minion aggro (blocking 4 damage instead of 8)

If I have missed a way to counter this minion aggro please tell me how to deal with it in the comments, I had an extremely hard time with it.

pretty sure anyone gets wrecked if they take minion aggro in a reasonably sized wave at level 2

pretty sure it doesnt aggro minions

pretty sure you auto attacked him

I just tested it and Rumbles Q (or any other ability) alone doesnt make him take minion aggro lel. Why would it even when every other spell in the game doesnt do so either?

His Q doesn't attract minion aggro, unless you're in the following:

  • all of your minions are dead or way less than enemy's.
  • you autoattacked him whilst using Q.

Dude, if you went all in at lv 1 with only your flamespitter thats... well thats pretty dumb, Rumble even if he attracts aggro has his barrier to use at his will, remember to keep your heathbar at half at all times for maximus efficiency and damage potential.

That's a lot of Rumble

Well, as everyone mentioned earlier, you either ran into enemy's minion wave or you auto'ed him. And if you charge in both into minion wave, AND as a lvl 2 Rumble, you're pretty much going to be forced back if not killed, after all, he's a squishy, short-ranged, melee, ap champion with no mobillity and sustain, add rather meh base stats for a melee champion and you get the idea...

His lvl 4 powerspike tho.

Lanebully isn't the primary function of Rumble. And everyone who's melee-ish, hell even ranged champions, will draw minion aggro. Rumble is a decent laner with huge teamfight potential. Making him ignore minion aggro would only break him, and just be unfair to other champions. Why should only Rumble have that mechanic?

minion aggro sometimes randomly will aggro you if your standing near them

but for the most party only autoattacks will truly aggro the entire wave

Lane bully? I've always thought of Rumble when I needed a teamfight champion, not a lane bully.
