And then in champ select: Me: "Hey friends, I can most likely carry the game if you let me mid" Other guy: "nope, mid-- I'm one pick higher than you"

In game: Other guy's score-- Twisted Fate 1-8-7, (how appropriate since he murderered our chances of winning the game) literally used his ult ONLY for vision. LOL. It NEVER FAILS. No problems in games up to series finale, but then-- oh then RIOT fucks you hard.

I just don't get people that take carry roles when they know they are bad. If you are bad, you would be doing yourself and YOUR TEAM a favor by just taking support and backing up/peeling your adc.

did you honestly think your team would react well to being told you can carry them? you know, implication being that you're telling them they suck and need carrying. so no shit of course you aren't going to get midlane.

well i think he means it implies cockiness or overconfidence (well atleast when i see someone say that, it comes to mind that they maybe a bit cocky), like from time to time i'll meet people who say "i will carry" and end up doing less then mediocre.

It does happen, but I don't think confidence is necessarily a bad think-- although I don't like extremely cocky people myself. Especially when they are cocky for no reason lol...

I wouldn't take it as "You suck", but I've run into too many people who tell me that "don't worry I'll carry" and who then play horribly. To me its an expression of overconfidence and a lack of focus. I mistrust anyone who says that in champ select.

And I've lost enough games thanks to people who do that that I no longer give someone a position if they claim "I'll carry." I'm much more likely to listen to someone who says. "Can I go mid, I main X" than someone who tries to tell me they are better than me. [not that I care much about playing mid as I've been working on jungle and support for my main roles when I start playing ranked.]

Literally every time i give up my lane to someone who says that, we lose and they are 99% at fault (the last 1% is my fault for, once again, being the nice guy despite knowing better).

I still do it on the off-chance someone actually can be competent at a role in my elo, plus i dont mind playing Support. Still whenever someone says they will carry from X role or dont ban X champion, i assume we will lose... and we do... It could just be the self-imposed pressure on top of the pressure of Ranked that causes you to play bad, but i dont understand how this keeps happening. Then again when i call my lane and someone else says "no im going there" they lose a match-up i know just from watching i could have won and then blame everyone else... my elo sucks... thats why i quit ranked...

One person can't carry the game unless the matchmaking is completely imbalanced. To imply that you can is extremely cocky (and unrealistic). You could have easily just said "hey friends, mid pref, it's my best lane" and you would have a better chance of getting it while not pissing off your team from the beginning.

If you suck, stay away from support. The easiest games I've ever won is where the enemies have a support that thinks they can just sit around bot lane being useless and still win. Those lanes always end up with the enemy ADC down 50 farm at 10 minutes. I'd rather have an idiot ADC than an idiot support.

That's not how this works. How would anyone possibly know if they are relatively better or worse than the other players in the game they got matched with? I mean, you saying "Hey friends, I can most likely carry the game if you let me mid" means literally nothing, except that you want to play mid. It doesn't tell anyone anything about your skill. How would they know if you're better or worse than them from that statement?

I get the frustration, but there isn't really anything that could be changed here.

No offense OP, but looking at your match history, in the 8 games you've gone mid this season you have 1 win and 7 losses with a KDA of ~2.52 which is rather poor. Suffice to say, you aren't carrying anything from mid, and If anyone who called mid had those kind of stats I wouldn't really want them to go mid either if I had pick priority over them.

No offense, but coming from someone who literally only plays Malzahar so you can sit under turret and farm, and a person who plays nothing but custom games, I would not allow you to take anything but support. Stats can be deceiving, 9 times out of 10 I do not lose my lane. However, when the entire team starts camping mid lane because I am the only person that will cause them ANY problems the entire game-- then stats get a little twisted. Especially when you don't get ANY help. I think you probably know this, but you might have to put the calculator away for a little while and look at common sense. Look at the other players in the games.
