Trickster's Glass could be perfect for an assassin. It lets you disguise yourself as a less threatening character on your team so its more possible to get your burst off and it even has a blink built into it if you want to use it for pure mobility. Just gear the stats to an assassin and it should work.
Also Trickster's Glass is the most fun item ever.
Would buy this on Malzahar and pretend to be Soraka or something like that.

While I don't think Trickster's Glass is specifically needed, there do need to be more AP items that are for Assassins. Right now we have... Lich Bane? Protobelt, which wasn't meant for assassins? Luden's, which is better on traditional mages? Gunblade counts I guess, but thats severly limited by also having AD.
The lack of distinctly assassin items in the AP space is a huge oversight for this update, especially since there are big changes to AD assassin items to make them more distinctly assassin.

For an active that strong, the stats would have to be beyond crap or the item unrealistically expensive.
When the enemy team has

That would be interesting. AP assassins are getting boned because of Edge of Night and Maw. Why not give them a different playstyle than ad assassins?
For the same reason it got scratched from the leblanc rework. It takes too much maintenance since everytime you add a new champion or skin you would have to update the item

They can't put trickster's glass in because they would have to make changes to the EVERYTIME they added a new skin or champion to make sure it's not bugged.
I'm no expert, but the item seemed balanced, and it was a whole lot of fun.
Also on this topic, are we ever going to see a game mode like that again?
It would be GREAT, to get to test out some crazy new items.
Because that item is not suitable for Summoner's Rift in any mode other than Black Market
The passive 'breaks' some of the rules and expectations we have about the game. Sure it would be something really fun for the people who can do this, it would be pretty shitty for those playing against it though. It's a really game warping item in terms of playings decision tree. It's no longer 'I see lux bottom we can can do X'. You don't know it's Lux and that widens the decision tree substantially. How you react is normally contingent on the information of who is where. By introducing dis-information they can't react in the same way. It becomes a game of trying to play each others minds (like poker). Is it lux or is it not lux?- do you want to call the bluff?
