Riot you need to reevaluate some of your rotating game modes

There is no reason for ARSR when ARAM exists.

There is no reason for URF to not be in the rotation.

There is no reason to not add Black Market Brawlers.

There is no reason to remove Dominion when you have Ascension as a game mode.

ARSR is completely different from ARAM. I'd prefer both.

Agreed with the rest. The more modes the better and more random the lottery.

Sort of correct, sort of not. ARSR is a whole different beast, and probably a pretty stupid idea, we may as well just have URF, which deals with the meta issues by setting them on fire. BMB probably needs a bunch of scripting changes to work properly, although yes, it was really fun. Nobody played dominion, it was just a bunch of added work for the balance team.

Roughly two changes per year, done by one guy in his spare time (along with TT changes) and who's since been reassigned to the SR balance team. At least go with something plausible, like bugfix upkeep or something.

I am just going by what riot said, which also makes perfect sense. The reason they had understaffed balance was because nobody played dominion and thus nobody cared if it was broken and stagnant.

You're missing the other half of that relationship. Even Riot admitted that understaffed balance led to a lack of popularity, which led to further understaffed balance, which led to a further lack of popularity, and so on.

Riot claimed a lot of things in their reasoning for retiring Dominion. Most of them were questionable at best. Actually, in hindsight, it's sorta fitting that even Dom's retirement was handled in such a messy way.

Dominion was the most fun map imo. Been trying to get into 3v3, but it's just not the same. It's like trying to settle for soda after quitting the sauce. Ascension is the only thing that comes close, but unfortunately it's only available a couple times a month (if that). LoL could really use a permanent mode that's just focused on fighting/objectives, without having to deal with tedious laning.
