Please RITO, New Rageblade

The problem with the current Rageblade is that it offers nothing unique, it's Unique requires you be be half dead to actually do anything (so not an item you want when ahead, or behind for that matter - it's completely counter intuitive). I know Rito are looking at this item atm, all the more reason for ideas.

My idea for a Rageblade remake is to make the item an aggressive pickup. Lots of useful stats, but the item now needs to be used aggressively in order to tap into it's potential which suits a lot of the champs who could build it (stacks only build on dealing damage, and last for a shorter time - so there is counter play to the item). Potential users include:

Kayle Jax Akali Teemo Corki XinZhao KogMaw Diana Varus Evelynn etc etc.

item 3124 New Guinsoo's Rageblade (Cost = 3200): Pickaxe (875) Blasting Wand (850) Dagger x2 (900) Recipe Cost ( 575)

40 Attack Damage, 60 Ability Power, 30% Attack Speed

UNIQUE: Basic attacks and dealing spell damage (one stack per ability use) grants +2% armor and magic penetration for 5 seconds. Stacks up to 10 times, granting a total of +20% armor and magic penetration. (Cannot be stacked with LW or Void Staff)

UNIQUE ENRAGED: On max stacks, grants 30 movement speed (15 for ranged champions), 8% lifesteal & 15% spellvamp.

The whole glib about "cannot be stacked with LW or Void Staff" pretty much seems like a deterrent for later-game champions. Although, to simplify, the game could make the penetration items unique with a passive name like "Pierce" or something like that so that the whole glib itself is just thrown into a name. Rageblade costing so much in this iteration does lean itself to a certain aggressive playstyle and might even be considered on hybrid fighters. Something I'm wondering about, though, is if it's so overloaded that it becomes the go-to snowball item, even for singular damage types like ADCs and APCs. Creating a suitable aggressive item that's balanced is like balancing on a knife's edge. That's why the current live Rageblade is so underwhelming; if it's too good stat-wise, it'll be seen on everyone.

Honestly, I'm not sure how to fix Rageblade without making it too niche (picked up on two champs like maybe Jax/Akali or some fighter style Ekko) or too OP.

I like it a lot. The fact it could compete with items such as item 3153 would make it absolutely awesome and increase item diversity. Finally hybrid builds viable?

However, maybe the base stats look a bit high. Without passive, the stats make it worth 4162.5 gold

Maybe 60 AP?

Careful with that 'on dealing spell damage' stacking. I don't think you'd want a single dot (with quarter-second ticks) to fully stack this thing, by itself, in 2.5 seconds.

Rageblade should give almost similar levels of power as Gunblade IMO.

Any reason why dealing damage with an AoE (or multi-target) spell wouldn't grant even one stack?

I actually love the boost when low thing, it just doesn't have enough impact right now, ehilw the number of champs that really would want all stats it offers is really, really low...

Still not that good on Diana, Teemo, or Varus. You know why? Their magic damage on hit doesn't apply spell vamp! Fizz's does, Ekko's does, Jax's does. Just make all magic damage on hit apply spell vamp. Spell vamp is already weak as shit, it needs a buff anyway. "Oh no, but you'll heal 15% of 200 damage every hit..." Yasuo heals 300 heal every hit when full build. I know of a Master Yi build that heals 1700 health per second. Lifesteal is SO much better.

The AS is too much. What you get is potential 3x scalings on a single item (AD, AD, ArPen). If you remember old Last Whisper, it contained a recurve bow which pushed the item's power way too far over the edge. That was subsequently removed and Last Whisper still remained a powerful item. That's the risk you run with 3x scalings, it's simply too much of a powerspike at once.

I recommend dropping the daggers and bringing the recipe cost up to 1000. The stat boosts from item completion and both passives is worth a LOT more than 575. Seriously, what were you smoking.
